how long after dating a guy do you tell him you cant have any more kids?
If that was the first sentence out of your mouth with me that would be fine.
Just let the subject come up naturally. everyone talks about kids some time or another.

Unfortunately, even telling the person doesn't mean they'll believe it, or really pay attention. Or they think they can change you...

Not just kids, but animals too. I still can't get guys to understand that, and they always act like I pulled the animals out of the closet and said "oh, by the way!"

Good point, I've heard of cases where the guy tells the woman he doesn't want kids, so she goes and gets pregnant anyway, figuring when he sees it, he'll change his mind. I've never understood that; I don't want kids either, seeing it would only make it worse for me, not better.....laugh

Oh my Gosh. If you know the guy wants kids, you really need to be upfront. That is very selfish on the woman's part. Why even start something if from the get go there are red flags? Maybe try seeking men that have no interest in having any/more children. If your searching profiles, keep skipping over the profiles where the men want kids. It's not fair to the guy! What if the woman wanted kids, but the man was not able to have any? Should he be upfront about it? I think so!

Why the assumption that it's the woman's fault? There are plenty of us who have posted that we have no interest in kids, don't want kids, and won't date anyone who have kids. The guys are just as quick to hit up a woman thinking they'll change her mind.

I wouldn't tell him while your dating!!!

Your only dating!!!

That should come up if it's a serious commited relationship!!

Unless he asks. Keep quiet about it!

It's one of the first thing I talk about on a date, is that I can't have anymore kids.laugh

At my age and the age group I have dated in
40-50, I realize that some women still have kids living with them at home, (I do) and that the possibility exists that they might want more, but after 40 most women are done having new babies.

I respect your view, but at my age, time is precious to me and i dont like to waste mine or anyone elses, so i prefer getting the big stuff out the way BEFORE it gets serious or has the potential to be.

I've had this exact same stunt pulled on me 4 times. They ended up feeling stupid when I proved I couldn't have been involved, but it makes you wonder about people.

My ultimate favorite is when they think if you hold it, you'll really change your mind. Ah, yes, snuggling a screaming, pooping, red-faced bundle of joy will really make me want to breed!!!!

Yeah, I've run into that many times, too.

And I really don't understand why it's so difficult for people to comprehend that I just do not have any sort of interest in, nor aptitude for, being a parent. They act like this is impossible. And a lot of them have tried really really hard to prove it to me.

I had to go to a family function the other day and someone brought their baby. I looked at it, thought meh, it's small, whatever. Now if they had brought a puppy or kitty along, I would have been like awwwwwwwww, look at that face!!!! Look at that face!!!! Allegedly, I'm not a real woman. Boo hooo.......smokin

I'm 45. When I was 20, I was living with my boyfriend, (later my husband)when I came home from work, there were 2 kids sitting on my couch, he said "these are my kids, theyre going to live with us". Needless to say I didnt have the faintest idea on how to be a mother. I learned pretty quickly. I was so naive and young back then. Now I have 5 boys, all grown, moved out, in the army. I did a good job. But my life was very hard. Had he told me when we were dating, would I have stayed? Probably not. But you cant live on couldve's. Better to be honest upfront.

I wouldn't get involved with a man that wanted a child. Seeing as how I can't provide one.
