how could they for they would have to also know your parents name where you were born your ban account? so no i have had scammers in yahoo that one guy wanted to go back to school and ask if he could use my paypal account.....NOTTTTTT!

Connecting the dots, all you need is a year and a name really. Google is a wonderfully useful thing when trying to find people, it is unfortunate that the information can be used to pinpoint other things assuming you have the skill and know-how.

You seem pretty paranoid!! do you even know the first thing about scammers? I have been sent spam mail so many times it would make your head spin the first thing they do is want to exchange personal emails to lead you away from the site, anyone with a brain knows this! once they accomplish this, then they start working on you with personal issues like financial woes. I think you really should follow up on scammers before you start pointing them out without really knowing nothing about them!!

If i had a dime for every scammer who has tried me... lol I would be rich ! {Or poor} depending on if i fell for their sheet or not And getting your Email is one of the quickest ways for them to trace other info on you But simply gathering your info bit by bit can accomplish much in Knowing things about you as well Don't kid yourself "Scammer" does NOT mean Dumb ! At least not always...

That's funny, you just joined the site Jan. of this year and i've been a member longer than you, dating back to may of last year and you assume I am a scammer, why am I stiil on the site then?? Do you have an answer for that Big Man!!

This is definately some food for thought. I agree you do have to be careful with what you put out there. I don't think it is being paranoid. It is being careful as I know there are scammers online.

Seriously though, people have been using information gathering to sabotage people in countless ways for eons...long before the internet. I met a man years ago who had learned everything he could about me just through asking around. He used the information to trick me into taking an interest in him. I thought we had so much in common and went out with him several times before I learned to listen to that little voice telling me something was off. I later found out the truth. I think too often we don’t listen to that little voice telling us something is not as square as it appears.

i actually have to say i have this one guy that is on my friends list in yahoo who has actually admited he was a scammer but he honestly NEVER!! tried to scam me but i am still stay aware and guarded for there has been scammers on here who they think they can get away with it WRONG!!1

Any one that is so concieted that they can not be scammed is painting a big old bullseye on their back. It is the truely foolish person that underestimates the time and determination a scammer can muster if they become obsessed with the idea of getting over on you. Cyber crimes are particularly easy because the laws have not caught up with the loopholes in laws and determining jurisiction and who is going to pay to prosecute even when it is determined a crime has been committed is difficult and expensive.
