I can say with 100% certainty that none of this is remotely relevant to any question I posed

You ask questions that require more than simple answers on a Forum, you take people to task on a subject not easily understood or explained, you pretend wanting to know in order to debate a question that has already been answered more then 5,000 years ago (namely: Does God exists) and then expect any Christian to answer to your full satisfaction while knowing full well that you won't budge from your position after hours and hours of senseless debate and that is less than genuine of you and you know it.
You want answers to your questions? Read the Bible, it's all in there. The answers have been right under man's nose for centuries but fallen-Man prefers to debate and doubt, argue and demonstrate instead of opening his little mind.

Difference between ice breaker and pick up line? Is one just meant to begin conversation while other is with intention of picking her up?

Pick-up line: as in picking up women to party, drink a lot and hope by the time she's had her tenth she won't care.

Ice-breaker: as in after meaningful eye contact.

IMO

I've never used a pick-up line and I couldn't. I'd feel so cheap and desperate and wonder how I'd apologize for it afterwards.
Sometimes I wonder if some women do fall for it and how, or do they simply have pity for those who use them?

First came body shaming, now charm shaming?

Why would you feel the need to apologize for trying to engage a woman who strikes your fancy in conversation?

And more so, why would you apologize to a woman who rebuffed your attempt to speak to her?

It isn't a matter of "falling for it", women have advanced BS meters that are powered by fuel cells. And they don't speak to a man that approaches them out of sympathy.

While I have fun with any topic, the reality is that I view a "pick up line" as a conversation starter with a stranger when you have no knowledge of their character, personality, or marital/relationship status.

It is intended to amuse her and view you as non-threatening before you introduce the duct tape and escort her to your nondescript cargo van!

Even something as benign as "How bout this weather we're having" is a pick up line.

Heck, some fellers play all Mr. Sensitive and wishy washy to gain attention. But hey, use whatever skills or tools one has at their disposal, right?

I just be myself. Real, Frank, no wishy-washy... Can't a man and woman converse without thinking about **** right off the bat? If you have sex on your mind on the get go you're really not interested in her, who she is and what drives her. Two strangers can make it work for while but a life together is not based on sex.

Conrad_73:

The Prophet Isaiah was giving a viewpoint description of how Earth appears to someone above it, depending on the angle of the person at the time of the viewing. There are existing photographs of earth where it looks like a 2D circle rather than a sphere/3D circle.

The point you're missing is that Isaiah provided a description of earth as seen from above, at a time in history when no humans had the ability to take space flights.

Yeah I am sorry you had that experience. Every where I go, we like foreigners. Many are business owners here.

There are countries in Europe that don't like Americans and aren't friendly. It's all just heresay and could just be friends experiencen but I heard France isn't very friendly

We all have our people with attitudes. I agree though, to make your own country better but of you decide to move, do it legally

It's clear that the US policies abroad have botched the Americans' reputation for being a peace-keeping superpower, and not just in France.
And of course, if anyone decides to emigrate to any country it is always better to do it legal.

Ok that makes more sense.

I feel for the people in other countries, but look at it from our view point (I don't know if you have problems with foreigners in your country illegally)

I have no problem helping our citizens. I have a problem with people coming here illegally. We don't have a way to document them to know if they are criminals or how to find them. They take many jobs from people here legally because they tend to work for less money (yes that is the bosses fault to). There is no way to collect on debts owed (medical care etc) and can't even garnish wages so the tax payers foot the bill. We pay government taxes (state taxes depending on the state and what they collect) and illegals don't.

We have a lot of illegal citizens here in Europe and it is a problem worldwide.
I'm not advocating that the USA or it's citizens should bear the brunt of Mexico's corruption, to the contrary.
I'm just saying that the USA isn't a welcoming country anymore, and again, from my point of view, from my experience. flowerforyou

Of course not all but mostly the don't care for anyone expect their self , i ask them if anyone can help me come over america of course i don't expect that some one to say yes me , because that will be a miracle but ,,,

We have just a life you never know when you will die and after that you can't take money you have made home car nothing ,,try to help people you can't , you know when i see a person homeless i always give something to them not because i have a lot but because i know what it mean's to don't have , !

Forget about America, friend. Let me save you the trip and give you fair warning, and I'm serious so take notes: It's not what you think it is and definitely not what it used to be.
Besides, they don't want you there taking their jobs and even if you don't plan on working there's no Welfare for you.
Oh, don't get me wrong, they'll gladly let you spend the $30,000 for Immigration procedures and you'll keep paying until you realize they really don't want you there.

Stay home and keep your rights. In the unforgettable words of Dorothy: there's no place like home! drinker

There is 'some' truth to your words...And thank you for your help, we're running out of room, money, and patience with those who are already here illegially....flowerforyou

I'm spreading the word here in Belgium and France to anyone who asks, but I'm only one guy and too many youths here think the US is paradise. It hurts me to have to be the one to bring them the bad news but I figure I'm saving lives doing so. Nothing worse than to spend 20 years in a country not your own and finding out in the end that you were never welcome.

Hi Fred :-)...That's all well and good, but what you forget to mention is that the U.S., like many other countries, is paradise to many less fortunate...If you're going to tell the story, tell the WHOLE story!...

Any developed country may seem like paradise to many less fortunate, Belgium more so than others because of the great social welfare here.

Seem?...what ...We are paradise to many, just ask Mexico...Did you live in the U.S. or just visit?... :-)

I've spoken at length with Mexicans. The decent ones regret ever living Mexico but being forced out of your country by hunger and misery isn't really a choice. Fleeing to a neighboring country isn't a choice, it's a lack of it.

My girlfriend is Mexican, her family didn't flee from their country, and they love it here. Not all are here because they had no other choice, even the decent ones.
Yes, not all.

Well we are more than willing to help them get home :-)....Instead, they do everything in their power to stay while working for cash to send back home to their friends and families so that they can buy needed supplies...(a good pair of shoes and a canteen)... to make the trip across the boarder too...I think your facts are somewhat skewed, but It was nice talking with you!flowerforyou

No.
I meant that they are forced out of their Own country, sorry for the mix up. And of course my facts are skewed, I don't pretend to know it all, I can only speak from experience.

Fred...I am not sure where you were in the states but most (if not all) people I know are welcoming of others, as long ad they are here legally. Sorry you had a bad experience. I am sure every country had those that aren't welcoming of foreigners.

I think the world has painted this myth (that people still believe) that it's a paradise and the streets are paved with gold. It's a great country but not perfect. We have some beautiful places and some ugly places

We really aren't that different than any where else

There's good and bad everywhere for sure and I don't mean to offend the good people of the USA. I'm just saying that nowadays, with everything going on in the world and our broken society, it is advisable to stay home.

I understand that. I don't think I would "feel at home" in another country. Where did you live? I am from Texas. We are a pretty friendly people (until we are disrespected lol)

I think a lot has changed because (among many things) people here illegally are a big problem.

I love learning about where people are from. We are a melting pot.

Sorry for your experience. Please know it's not like that for everyone or everywhere here

I lived in 6 different states, exactly where is my personal life. And yes, I'm sure some are more welcome than others. But hey, I did have a great ride there for a good while so I can't complain.
I can only lay out the truth as I've experienced it.
