still she didn't lose

she gained a whole lot more than if she had never tried out

no matter what she will always be a winner

Second in a show that size is far from losing!

If she has what it takes to make a career out of singing, she has been got the platform to do it now, even without winning. Im not convinced she has though, its not ALL about being able to sing.

Unfortunately that is the case. Simon often discusses this issue and he is brutally honest about it with contestants that are overweight or not what he considers marketable in some respect.

Im not saying that is right. I personally could not give a rat's bottom what a singer looks like but that isnt the reality in most cases. At least it isnt in the US. It may be different in Europe or at least not as much emphasis placed on a performer's appearance on stage.

Dan.... I don't blame you folks for not being interested in religion.

I am not interested in religion either.flowerforyou:heart:flowerforyou

here, HEAR!drinker

I do find the atrocity committed in the name of Jesus Christ to be somewhat engaging however. Why? And why so much of it?

I agree. She was talented but she seemed to lack range. It was the same thing over and over and she wasnt handling the pressure all that well it appeared. Voice wavering. She had a good run though.

I dont fully understand what is in the bible exactly that makes people assume that Jesus Christ was a bigot? It seems like that would be the absolute antithesis to what most of us assume Jesus stood for and what he attempted to impart to the people of his age. Remember they had nothing but the law that was handed down from Moses and that was a lot of stoning and murder an over reacting in general. Jesus offered them a way out of that brutality. Why would Jesus have anything against same gender love? Can anyone explain this phenomena to me? huh

To quote the great Jethro Tull:

"If Jesus saves, then he better save himself
From the gory glory seekers, that would use his name in death"

I agree with you on that.

Indeed. I feel that the more sexuality is repressed in a society, the more related crimes and sexually deviant behavior tends to occur. Ive never taken the time to look up statistics and compare the US to other countries that are less heavily Christianized but I wonder.

Ok my last post for this thread for tonight.

Lynann, why didn't you post this in the politic section? Just curious, because it apprears this is the new tactic the Religious Right will use to put a final nail in the gay marraige thing. In doing a quick search on this it's all over the place already.

You cant be serious? noway

 correct. 23,if you count Never Say Never Again. 24,if you count Casino Royale (1967). be seeing you

Alright, you win. We had a good run. laugh Seriously though, a friend of mine had never even heard of George Lazenby so I figured not everyone here would know of that one either. I think he was Australian or something. He was not as cutesy looking as either Moore or Connery. I hated Roger Moore as Bond just for the record. Yuck...
 On Her Majestys Secret Service is one of the best films in the franchise. Lazenby is very good in the role. The film is so good because it is very faithful to the novel and does not contain the silliness that would enter the films in the Moore years. be seeing you

Yes! Indeed. Who's idea do you think it was to make 007 an oversexed goofball anyway? Was that just to appeal to a broader audience I wonder?

I liked George Lazenby in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" Its one of the first ones from the 60s and the 007 character is slightly closer to the book. He was more cold and emotionless and less of a playboy.
 actualy,it's the last one of the 1960s (1969). Dr.No was the first one of the 60s (1962). be seeing you

I meant first James Bond films....in case people were not familiar with it.

There was a super sale at Glens, a flat of Pansys, six pack of tomatoes, six pack of snap dragons, and a 4 inch pot of 'golden carpet' less than $13.00 . If I had a real yard instead of some pots and a small planter I would have gone crazy buying flowers this morning.

Thats awesome! Yeah I bought some pansies the other day because they were on sale. Pansies drink a lot water though. They are constant sippers.
