Well I feel for both of y'all dealing with IBS..

I've never had any issues with food except when I had my gallbladder removed. I had to get use to eating what I had always eaten prior again..Cause I would eat certain spices/foods and it would go through me. That was bad enough.. I can't imagine what y'all deal with everyday..

I'm one that loves Spicy foods. Steaks I eat once in a while mainly due to cost.. Mexican food is my go too.. the spicier the better at times..

tryin a new shade bigsmile

lucky you.. I lost my gallbaldder years ago.. man that was a nightmare.. appreciate your empathy tho..

with IBS (for me anyways) if I eat things in moderation I'm okay.. just not too spicy or not too late in the day.. unless it's plain wholewheat toast (with olivino spread) and tea.. elsewise I'll be repeating it all night sick if I eat heavier stuff or things like smoked meat or garlic bread at lunch, I'm usually okay come bed time.. for me? Chinese food is ma go to.. especially pork dumplings, crispy spinach and sesame beef.. YUM!

drinker mornin' peeps'n lurkers drinker

wow.. seems I gots some good company when it comes to ailments laugh
yeah... IBS is NO joke I tell ya.. always watching what you eat and when.. I do the same.. salad and meats (white meats like pork & chicken although slowing down on the chicken these days) but I WILL do 1 or 2 T-bone steaks a year.. grab a few of'em when they're dirt cheap, freeze'em and eat one at new years then one mid-summer on the grill.. def easier on the gut..

laugh I'm the door person too with my stray.. she prefers outdoors most days (when it's -10 and warmer) but sometimes I call her the yoyo cuz she'll go out, 2 mins then wants back in.. barely have a chance to walk away laugh I don't have a catflap either.. figure it'd be safer then waking to any type of critter in the house.. like -> 🦨🐿:rabbit2:🦔:rat::mouse2:

Yeah, I know.
But over here I do not have to chop wood, we have gas

I got gas too.. especially after eating pork'n beans
rofl sorry.. laugh couldn't resist bigsmile

We don't have enough trees for people to go cut them and use them for heating. As such it's not allowed either.
There are quite a lot of people with wood stoves these days but they usually buy -already chopped- wood. Quite expensive...
Nice heat though!

I actually meant, if I were to move to Canada ... then I'm not going to chop wood. Nor shovel a ton of snow. Not with my back & neck. And the chopping... I'd prolly end up with an axe in my thigh, hihi.
There's not going to be any moving unless there's a great bloke, hahaha.

in Canada.. we have TONS of trees.. and have to cut some down due to age or interference with hydro lines etc so.. always ways to get wood to heat with without spending any money.. I have a wood stove too however, being my basement is still being finished (nope.. I'm not done YET) I won't use it for fear of burning the place down LOL.. besides even though I have the cement board to properly surround the stove, I'm not at that point so holding off.. that said.. I have a fair bit of cut wood ready for the stove.. and a mini chain-saw that works amazingly great at cutting even the thicker logs so ma axe is gathering rust bigsmile
see? that's how I adapt laugh

feeling tired from not sleeping most of the night.. hate when this happens grumble

Crystal, we do have some extreme weather, moreso now with global warming, where we fluctuate between -40C to +40C depending on the time of year.. but I do believe you are right about adapting, humans can adapt to change when they feel the need to. To me it's that old saying "necessity is the mother of invention" that rings true, our poor ancestors got stuck here and they simply had no choice, survive/adapt or die and humans are firm believers in survival laugh

either you need a male partner OR you can always hire someone to do that for ya.. OR.. you adapt tongue2
