The "In" thing here in Daytona is the "Thug Look", which consists of the ball cap with the rim either to the side or straight, pants sagging to the bottom of your ass, and walking like you are "thuggish". Problem is, most of these kids are not "thugs". In fact, alot are rich kids trying to pretend to be something they are not. Thank you GRAND THEFT AUTO series. Thank you for inspiring the "Thug Look". Thank you RAP MUSIC, and the artists who inspire it. Yeah. I want to see kids walking around with big ass pants on that drag the ground. I want the attitude where respecting people is out. I want kids to want to just shoot someone if they disagree with them over something so simple as a parking space. People here in the states think that the War in Iraq is our biggest problem. WTF? How about looking back here at home and start getting concerned about what your kids are doing. Okay. Goof is done ranting. I'm gonna get a pizza!bigsmile

Yeah..let's blame music and a video game instead of the severe lack of " give a sh*t " parenting.

Great idea.

Here where I live we have the right to express ourselves but we also have 'indecent exposure'.

i actually got into a confrontation with one such moron not too long ago. the dirtbag tried to shove me off to the side so he could exit the store we had been shopping at (fry's electronics in burbank, california), and he got all 'gangsta' on me when he found that his scrawny-no muscle havin'-hundred and twenty pound ass couldn't come close to moving me out of the way.

he did a lot of posturing, a lot of what i call the 'gangsta dance' (where they stiffen up a leg an shuffle around in front of you while having their fold arms out like they're in a bad defensive boxing position). and yes- the kid looked more like he'd be at home playing the playstation 3 his parents in the uber-rich part of town bought him than in "tha' hood".

and then he tried to throw a punch which was the worst mistake he coulda made. that goes especially for the fact he was messing with a person who weighed almost twice as much (and was almost twice as tall) as him, too.

a quick leg-sweep and he was on the ground, crying for his mommy. he went down quicker than monica lewinsky on bill clinton. it was funny.

We finally went to uniforms in public schools to avoid this type of dress within the school system...wonderful idea in my opinion. What gets me is seeing the guys walking with their legs spread trying to hold the pants up

I'm a gamer myself, and have played these games. But, being a gamer, I know that GTA has had an impact on kids. You can't say it hasn't. And, I am not putting all the blame on video games. Not at all. It starts with the parents. Now, before I say this next line, let me just state that I am not a parent. I have raised kids, but I do not have a child of my own. Now, with that said.....PARENTS NEED TO START GIVING A S*IT ABOUT WHAT THEIR KIDS DO!

Now....go play HALO and kill aliens cause it is much, much funner.bigsmile laugh

OMG, that was just too good lol

But actually that is the styles coming out we dealt with them around here too. But my son never wore them and any of his friends that did made sure they pulled their pants up around me. I told them all around me your pants better be pulled up or you will find them around your ankles instead. Guess they thought I meant business.bigsmile

But was glad that our schools here have dress codes and held to them very strictly.

don't blame the parents, social services says you can't spank them, thats physical abuse, you can't yell at them, thats verbal abuse, you can't really do anything but follow their so called advice and spend a fortune on therapy and crap designed to justify the existence of social workers, who, really are a hoot, some of these people are just plain scary, without a clue, over educated idiots, got any more pizza goof

i have some friends who'll do just that. if they see some idiot with their pants hung low, they'll think nothing of reaching out and "pantsing" them. there's little chance of retribution or violence after the pants-pulling either, as they'd be too busy trying to get their pants back up to "hung-low" position. by THAT time, my friends are usually well out of there.
