If you went on a first date with a guy, and he took to a great restaurant for dinner.
But when the bill came, he pulled out a 2 for 1 coupon.

Would you feel insulted ?

well what kind of restaurant would we be at in order for him to even have a 2 for 1 coupon?

i doubt it'd be fine dining. not that i care about that, but if he took me to mcdonald's i'd probably have my own coupons to use bigsmile

While it is good to save money, I don't think a first date is a good time to do it. Typically with those type of coupons you are limited with what can be ordered. So if she picks something that doesn't fit with the promotion are you going to tell her she can't order that because they you can't use your coupon?

I'd save it for date two or three and start the invitation with .. hey I've got this coupon, want to help me use it???? Then there are no surprises or awkwardness.

I guess there are a lot of those restaurants in your area. I'm a coupon clippin' nut! But, I think for a first date, I'd rather go to a decent restaurant and not have a coupon involved. If he could sneak it in with the check, what do I care?

I don't like fancy restaurants for first dates. I like to go somewhere that I would usually go so that I can be comfortable. Fancy restaurants should be reserved for special occasions.

Then, by all means, pull out the coupon and let's go for ice cream!
