Here's my scenario - (all hypothetical/nothing personal ok?) you want the song removed/banned from the school list, what about those other children and parents who found nothing wrong with the song? they didn't find it offensive, they found it entertaining, why should your (again hypothetical) problems be burdened onto them? What if the school decided to sing a song about the hatred of franshade (I'm not intending to offend you)? Someone (if only you and your children)is sure to be offended by that, but some will not be. Should we burden those who like singing the song because some do not? |

actually the reason i brought up faeries in this thread is because i have heard people compare faeries and angels. some think they are similar if not the same
so if they substitute faeries for angels in that song...is that ok? |

The chatter with the angels song reads like it is very annoying to hear, just had to say that.
I think they should leave god out of schools unless the school is a parochial school. It would be less problem for everyone involved. Religious kids are still gonna hear lotsa god songs elsewhere and the non religious kids and parents won't have to go through it since obviously they don't wanna. MO |

If they want to teach or cater to religion in schools they need to teach all religion to the kids, so there is no favortism to one religion. Do you realize how long that would take? All religious songs from all over the world, all religious text from all over the world, etc.... That is the only way to be fair to all religions. |

actually the reason i brought up faeries in this thread is because i have heard people compare faeries and angels. some think they are similar if not the same so if they substitute faeries for angels in that song...is that ok? I see nothing wrong with any of these songs - but then again I am teaching my niece the itsy bitsy spider and now will teach her bunny foo foo (thanks yr). Children are extremely impressionable, I'm going to show her how to embrace and respect differences, but as is my choice
