Boo, I do not follow any organized form of religion.

I just try to remove the labels people try so hard to place on themselves.

Here's my scenario - (all hypothetical/nothing personal ok?)

you want the song removed/banned from the school list, what about those other children and parents who found nothing wrong with the song? they didn't find it offensive, they found it entertaining, why should your (again hypothetical) problems be burdened onto them?

I don't think the children would be the ones to ask, heck children don't get the argument, it's the parents mostly.

I see your point, I just don't know how we can deal with this as it is. It's still religious no matter how one looks at it. I get the repetative thing for other subjects but people don't get in fights over the other subjects like they do about religion. I think just not introducing religious themes is not the same as banning, if people dealt with religion at home there would be no discussion of banning.

I guess I just think we can teach children with out having these disputes about religion much easier if we each keep out religion in our homes and churches. Don't know how religion got in public schools to begin with, but since I don't have kids I have not kept up with it.

Oh well so far everything is pretty much majority rule, have lived with that pretty much my whole life right or wrong, don't see it changing anytime soon. Though I do see the world changing, some think for the worse and I think for the better.

There are times when I wish I could just agree with everyone and not have the burden of thought.. LOL Thanks Fran

Not really sure where this took the religous route as I posted because this just happens to be the 2nd song this set of parents want banned from their school. Personally didn't see anything religious about it at all which is why I posted the thread.

relieving us from the burden of thought think

ssshhhh, gotta be careful otherwise someone may ban that too (just messing with you)

let me ask this (i said this once before)

what about little bunny foo foo??? down came the good fairy (not everyone believes in fairies while some believe in them through their religion) and all the bopping them on the head (animal cruelty??) should that be banned?

Here's a little recipe to go along with the bopping heads.

i see people complaining over a mother going to the school board (over unclear dress codes btw) for her beliefs and not forcing for others to untuck the shirts....but yet someone else SUES over a song because it's wrong??? double standards maybe?
