i see people complaining over a mother going to the school board (over unclear dress codes btw) for her beliefs and not forcing for others to untuck the shirts....but yet someone else SUES over a song because it's wrong??? double standards maybe?

It's both about religion, as always.... sad2

drool willing

but seriously...would this song be an issue if faeries substitutes angels?

Just substitute the whole song with Jim Morrison's, Break On Through To The Other Side.

That's about the quickest way to see the Angels.

I have enough problems gettin' a chick by myself. Surrounded by Fairies would really chase 'em off.

I get your point, I just think there are so many objections with in each religion that is better expressed at home for everybody. Let public school be a public school. I also feel bad for the kid of the woman that wants her kids body hidden. I lived with some pretty strict stuff as a kid, and got picked on for things my mother made me do that other kids thought was pretty lame. The kids were right actually. Just made me extremely rebellious, and eventually I ran away, never came back. Have no relationship with my parents to this day.

personally i think it should be all of nothing. i like for my son to learn about others but not at the expense of one being left out or somene getting bent out of shape. if that happens...i'll teach him these things on my own

Ok these are just thoughts ....

Life changes and that is a good thing, but religion doesn't seem to keep up with it, forcing kids to have to deal with the parents who have not evolved along with life. The very basics of some religion such is 'do unto others' which can be taught with no religious slant and produce the same affect, I just think it would be nice for a change to turn to practical over ritualistic dogmatic control.

Hey, I'm not expecting miracles, so just a thought.

I think religion in a lot of ways has become about control and ego and an unwillingness to change. To me religion is not about freedom, it's about control. Our government have learned all too well how to control from religion itself. They have learned it works pretty well, until people see through it. But we are programmed from childhood, so most of us will never see any other way to exist.

Before anyone gets all bent out of shape, these are my thoughts, nothing I expect will ever happen..

as do all religions including non-religious. everyone thinks their beliefs are right (and soem understand that it isn' right for others maybe)

the only way to do this is to ban all sides. but then again....people will find something else to omplain about so i don't see it solving anything and not sure how to make everyone happy....because that won't happen

Don't kids nowadays have songs of their own? Some of the old ones were cute but you would think they might have had new ones over time, no?

Banning has too much baggage, I would prefer some things just having a place and the place for religion and ritual is not in school, or at least public school. People that don't share religious beliefs and rituals should have a place to educate their kids with out it's influence. I always thought that was public school, don't know how religion got in there.

Ack, the whole time I type I can feel a storm coming..

Yes people are people and will always complain about somthing, but the hot button issues are the ones that get the most heat and the most argument and anxiety.
