How would you handle this?

You decide to chat with a member of the opposite sex that has no picture in their profile.
You write for a while, call each other a few times and start getting interested, So you decide to set up a meet.
When they show up.... It is your Sister/Brother that shows up??

How is that even possible? You write to each other and talk on the phone... Wouldn't that be a good indication that it's your brother or sister? Did you mean some long lost sister or brother you never knew about?biggrin

I actually read a story somewhere about a couple that was out of love and started looking around for people to meet online. As fate would have it, the anonymous partners they met were... each other! Actually, I think I know where that story is...

#5, but the whole article is great

OK.OK... forget the phone part.. my mistake..
but Many do meet just from emailing each other...
However.. in my case.. someone might get hurt if my Brother showed up after acting like he was a womannoway

There's an even BETTER story about a French teenager who was lookin' fer love via online dating. He found a girl... started chatting... which eventually grew to some serious cybering... which also eventually led to the first in-person meet-up...

... which is where the teenager found out that the "girl" he had been cybering with was his MOM!!! Mon dieu!!!

In the movie "Must Love Dogs", she ends up meeting her father. A wonderful movie about online dating and relationships in general starring Diane Lane (adorable) and John Cusack (his cuteness is in his character).

Thanks!
I have passed the movie by because it sounded lame,, but now seems like it might be funny.
I will have to watch it soon.

It's hilarious... especially when it somes to the 'time to have sex' scene!

It's one of those movies where you can either relate to things yourself or relate them to someone you know throughout the movie and yet still be able to laugh about what a pain the whole dating thing is.

I am so thankful that this is an absolute impossibility.

I would hope that you'd recognize a sibling from their responses and their life stories...unless like it's been said it's a long lost bro or sis then I get why you'd never know but talk about incestuous if it was never found out!! oops slaphead

I would admit that would be weird but for me would never happen for I don't meet them out of the clear blue. I would have found out enough to know if they were family besides I always talk to anyone before I meet them.noway

And for me a picture is a must before I will meet anyone. Without one I will not meet them.

Didn't you have a display picture either?

I would have thought they'd recognize you if you did, and if you did have a display pic? Hmm...
