This page takes those comments and gives the context for them. They are not as bad as many have claimed them to be.

Except for the direct quotes from the different detractors it does not include whole quotes. It's just more clips and as for clips I've found better including direct excerpts on youtube of the speech. Unfortunately I can't find a copy of the entire speech where I can determine for myself what was said.

Click on the hyper links next to the speech dates to get full the text for speeches.

Yes what I found on that page is the same thing I've found on the US.Gov website. I can not find the quote from the speech where he said Americans had been arrogant though I know he said it due to the edited news clips showing him doing so.

This liberal non sense has to stop.I suppose we should apologize to France and Britain for saving their butts during World war 2 which they surely would have lost. How about Korea?Maybe we need to apologize to Saudi arabia and the people on behalf of the soldiers who died for them so they could be free.

We can also apologize to the Nazi party and Japan for getting in their way to take over the world.Lets apologize to Germany for us screwing up their master plan of Jewish extermination.I could go on and on.

We owe nobody an apology epically to those 3rd world Muslim countries who work day and night to wipe us off the face of the earth. They should be bowing to us.We are the best country on this earth and always will be.That is why millions of people risk death, mutilation, and imprisonment to come here.

Anyone want to impeach this clown sign me up.

Why? Did he do any of the things that you just said?

Winx I have debated with you for many months and you always have a hard time admitting facts when it comes to anything that makes the Liberal party look bad. It's getting old. It's better just to say nothing at all then to pretend that didn't happen. It's childish and arrogant to pass facts off as bias and conspiracy theories when you have Obama on film saying and doing these things. It seems to me that the Obama flock simply can't grasp the fact that he does and says these stupid things because they believe he is God and can't do no wrong.Nothing is further from the truth.

We have been arrogant. No matter how much we have supported others it does not excuse the recent arrogance we have shown

now see???? I can give credit where credit is due and debunk bad info too bigsmile

If you research most of the negative stuff about Obama it turns out to slanted and untruths.

But as for the arrogance stuff, it is true whether the OP was accurate or not. I can accept the truth even if it is hard to hear.

What you are saying is not true. laugh I want the facts. I don't like biased information. I spoke up now because you are making things up that have never happened.

Are you saying that it's better for me to say nothing at all? How am I acing childish and arrogant?

I look forward to seeing the speech that Davey says exists.

OMG, you think people believe he's God.laugh He's a man that's trying to do a tough job.

You have no clue what it even means to debate. You come in here all the time with your supposed fact with never anything more than a couple of horribly biased blogs to "prove" your point. I may not always agree with Winx but she always has good authoritative backing for her statements. That's debating not this diatribe you insist on inflicting on others.

If you research most of the negative stuff about Obama it turns out to slanted and untruths.

But as for the arrogance stuff, it is true whether the OP was accurate or not. I can accept the truth even if it is hard to hear.

Finally found it. Here's what was said directly following his statement saying we were arrogant...

-------------------------
But in Europe, there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what's bad.

On both sides of the Atlantic, these attitudes have become all too common. They are not wise. They do not represent the truth. They threaten to widen the divide across the Atlantic and leave us both more isolated. They fail to acknowledge the fundamental truth that America cannot confront the challenges of this century alone, but that Europe cannot confront them without America.
-------------------------

now to me it is obvious he was trying to pull things together with europe and put us on equal footing. I still don't like the way he did it, but I do understand it.

I would think so it is a direct transcription of what was said rather than some biased media personalities interpretation of what he said.

I dont understand what the problem is? Many Americans see ourselves as an arrogant country. We are from what I see. Nations are made up of people, if the people are arrogant...then so shall be the nation.

Sure we can be an arrogant nation. ie Iraq, Vietnam. I think what got our suspicions up was an obviously over the top one sided article posted by the OP. It is one thing to have an opinion, but quite another to base it on half truths.

I'd say the fuss is that it was made to sound as if he was apologizing for all we've done through history which, as I have now found, was not the case at all. With all the information in hand I'd say it simply a poor choice of words and places and times to say it, which made it easy to take offense to.
