I stand corrected...

Still kinda funny though, the thought of being repeatedly pulled over by the same Female Officer over and over only to consider it dating... I had this visual ya know.

one of the most dangerous jobs and one that people generally die quite young is being a truck driver...and that is what Darrel does.

driving 80,000 pounds of vehicle in any and all weather conditions is dangerous enough, then add all the traffic and you have some very dangerous situations.

one of the most dangerous jobs out there is an over the road truck driver!

Thank you for this; I have lost 3 friends in two years, that were my age, to Trucking.
One stress induced heart attack, one sudden illness(found in the sleeper by his Team-Mate) and one due to a head-on collision with another driver whom fell asleep at the wheel.

I am an Owner Operator and have been on Long Haul for the last 20 weeks, I finally have someone to come home to and she gives me reason to get out of the truck for a few days. She tells me each and every morning to stay safe so I can come home to her.

WOO HOO!! I am so happy that you have that balance now with the home life!! I think it makes a huge difference in the life of a truck driver!!

Those highway miles that are filled with who the hell knows what is ahead, can get tiring very very fast. When you are driving 3000/4000 miles a week...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkfOpl0ujH4

The Heartbeat of America!! I used to hear this all the time when I was in the truck with Darrel...the song is one of the best I have heard, the lyrics really say it all!! I hope that people listen to it!!

It takes a lot of intelligence, a lot of stamina, a lot of hard work, constant abuse of your body...it takes a lot to balance out the life of the road and the life of home...

I will add you and your lady to my prayer list Lord Cole!!

Stay safe!!

That has a dangerous job? Fireman, Cop, etc? If so, why? If not, why?

Absolutely. People in those professions generally do it because they genuinely want to help people. They don't get rich doing it. I would be proud to date someone like that.

In the past I have said no, because I was scare something will happen to him. I have a change of heart, because for one you never know who you might end up with and secord you just need to have faith that when they do go out there to do their job that everything will be okay. There is one issue I do have though that is the long work hours they have. I have heard some wifes or girlfriends that talk about that and I have to be able to deal with that. I guess I never know until I experence it myself. I do believe if I look at it in a positive way that at least we be happy to see each other then be like OMG do he/she have any friends to hang around, because we are getting on each others nerves.

Perhaps a firewoman, but definitely not a cop. Cops, as a rule, tend to be more conservative, less open to different ideas and much more authoritarian.

For those that need a definition of authoritarian: indicates a belief in the rightness of those with authority and power at the expense of individual freedom and the rights of minority and unconventional groups within society.

I've known many cops. Most are good people. However, the authoritarian personality seems to be a link between them. I do not want to stereotype, but this type of personality can lead to controlling behaviors.... Connect the dots...

I think that the most dangerous job in the world right now is being in the military. Our men and women of the military are going overseas and fighting every single day for the freedom of our country and the world. They don't know from one day to the next if they will ever see home again. So if you want to date someone in a dangerous job just date a military man or woman. Let's all make sure that we give each and every one of them our best and pray to God that they all make it home safely.  waving

I have dated a both a cop, and a fireman, sure.. Id do it again.

My mother kept reminding me of how high the divorce rate is for people in those jobs.

Apparently, after dating a psycologist, it turns out, thats a dangerous job for me lol. Some psycologists, are just totally insane pill poppers, and messed people. Hard to deal with.

Everyone has their path, when its someones time to die, itll happen, to anyone.

I feel if ya love someone, or care about them, thats all there is to it.

Nah, not my thing.... Fact is, I have dated a cop very briefly. She was a rather closed minded individual, but had a first rate azz.
