i didnt read any of the posts

just wanted to share something i thought was interesting

humans look at the left side of the face wich is the side that shows the most/promanant, emotion

scientific studies show dogs also look at the left side, but only on human faces not other dogs. so are they seeing and understanding human emotions. dog owners would say their dog knows when they are happy/sad

cats are big rats on valium, just kill them and get a dog

if they're house pets usually they let you know when the need to go out to poop and pee,or go to their empty bowl to let you know they are hungry

my parents have a cat, its a tiny thing raped in fluff.

its theraputic to stroke, but i wouldnt bye one. like kids theyre great... for a day but you dont want to own one

dogs are more inteligent and as an inteligent creature, i like other inteligent creatures... like ants spock

dog DNA is way more simple than humans. but they get many of the same diseases.

so scientists are finding it realy easy to identify the gene ohme in dogs that fails, causeing disease. then they can find the gene ohme in humans from the dog gene. i.e. find the problem in 10 DNA strands rather than finding it in 10,0000

dogs will eventually be the key to cureing our diseases

what have cats done for us, huh?

I do they think they can tell us things.....really more so if we are tuned into our pets.
When my 12 yr old was 2-3 he had really bad asthma attacks and I used to have to get up with him often during the night to help him with breathing treatments.I kept his nebulizer machine on a table by a rocking chair for easy access. Our then Chow-lab mix used to pace back & forth to the nebulizer whinning while I was getting situated. Almost as if he was telling me to hurry up he was worried about the baby! He did it every time but only at night. Kind of like he wanted to help because I was always so tired & half asleep sometimes!

Dog's are truly man's best friend

Try this experiment..... put your dog and your girlfriend in the trunk of your car....

Open it up after an hour........ Who is the happiest to see you

I think its a good idea when thinking about stuff like this to reverse things as well. Do you think cats and dogs look at people and wonder what the HELL we're up to?
In my experience, every animal is as varied as every person. I've had brilliant cats and ditzy ones (I have two of those now, plus they don't understand much english yet). I've had brilliant dogs, and not so bright ones. I've had selfish pets, and pets who go out of their way to help others.
As for trying to use them as relationship barometers, I wouldn't recommend it. Imagine taking someone on because your dog liked them...only to find out serial killers hands smell like fresh meat.
You need to remember that just as you have YOUR agendas, that they have THEIRS as well.

im not really sure this is the right forum,so please dont be too upset if it is.

i just wanted to relate a story and see what yall thought

i was going out with a lady, for 2 months awhile back
she has two cats, one of them the nicest cat..the other one,was weird..nice one second, and off the wall crazy the next..

i thought about this, but didnt say anything...
things were going well, until one morning i wanted to go to the store..
i was going to go alone,n come right back..but for some reason, this pissed her off..
so off we go to the store, shes muttering n im in the passenger seat, going wth to myself..
you know the feeling you get, when you realize that you have somehow screwed up so bad,and now the devil is sitting next to you?
thats how i felt..

so,we go in,shes practically snarling at this point..im just like, gotta get this over with, must escape immediately,so we get out of there,n on the way back she starts cryin n says shes sorry n then poof shes happy again...im just waiting for her head to start spinning :O

we get back to her place,go in,and the cat jumps up on me n starts freakin out..

needless to say, that was my cue,n i bailed the scene for good.

so,in restrospect,it seems like the major clue should have been the cats behavior was identical to the owners behavior...
any thoughts,or experiences?

Sounds like she MAY have been bipolar? I'm sure the cats could pick up her mood swings. Perhaps one of the cats were a bit more sensitive to her mood swings than the other.

Dogs, in general, are smart. I think they can only learn as much as their environment and their owner dictates though. We had brilliant neighbors, both doctors, but they never trained their dog or spent much time with her and she was the dumbest dog Ive ever known. Her temperament was similar to theirs though(laid back), come to think of it.

Me and my dog are capable of communicating by means of ESP, and all he really ever has to say is, "I feel like lickin' my nuts."

Remember "Oscar," the Death Cat?

http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/oscar-cat-with-the-purr-of-death/2007/07/26/1185339167772.html

I DO REMEMBER THAT STORYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Wonder if Oscar would know of his own and alert someone..........
I have a black cat named Oscar. Was feral and he adopted us. A sweeter, more loving cat cannot be found. A real gift from God.

Oh yes! I fully believe you can tell a person by their pet. A person acting spastic and tripped out will create a cat or dog that way. The animal has to know to get out of the way, so their whole mood and emotions are a self-defense thing against the crazy person.

Smart critters.
