For one thing illegals are willing to work for so much less money, I am unemployed at this time, have been for 6 months and cannot find a job making what I was at my last job. Take the story 5 posts or so above about a forklift, I have been a certified forklift operator in the past but illegals will get these kind of jobs just because they will do it so much cheaper that I can, I have a household to support, mortgage, child support...etc. I don't buy into that crap about illegals doing jobs that us American's won't.... You said it!  A lot of Americans seem to think all the Illegals do is pick produce.

right now i dont think there is going to be tons of simpathy for this particular issue...many americans (legal ones that is) are pissed about lack of jobs and illegals working many jobs tends to piss people off....they can go through the hoops like thousands before them and become legal....and i believe if they want that....english should be a requirement.......if i moved to their country i wouldnt expect them to speak english to me let alone demand they print stuff in english for me...id take the time to learn it first if i really wanted to become one of their citizens...,. I agree with you on this one, Bedlum.

a mexican official said ( in spanish of course) "This is mexico , we speak spanish here" or a french official said ( in french) "This is France, we speak French here" or an Italian official said "This is Italy, we speak Italian here" ..???? just wondering , because I kind of would EXPECT those languages in those parts of the worlds,,, is it unreasonable to expect a specific language in the USA(not to limit to one language, as most european countries have many languages spoken, but to EXPECT at least the one be spoken) |

It goes back to having jobs that pay low enough that others won't take. I'm not saying it's a good thing, or the right thing at all.
It all comes down to money. If an employer can pay someone little enough to do a job, even if they are not from here, unfortunately they are doing so. Why do you think we have so much outsourcing as well? They can ship jobs out to places like India, all the while laying off people in the US because they can pay other people less. |
