I think the point dragonness is making is those who live beyond the poverty line,, if they file taxes correctly,, get back ALL the federal taxes they pay in....and if they are not working to pay taxes at all, they can utilize services to help them survive
people overlook that all of us adults will have to work the MAJORITY of our life(even if we hit setbacks) to survive. We will be taxed during that time, and SOMEHOW that tax we pay in will be returned to us,,, through a government service or an income tax return check,,, |

i love how u americans think english is an american language...from the public schooling perhaps? we earned it, it is our right.... this whole thing is stupid.... illegal immigrants demanding rights is like you letting someone stay at your house then they tell you how they want you to run it... sorry i have no sympathy for illegals. they can get in line, learn english, and become a citizen the legal way...and the people hiring them should be run outta business for ignoring US laws... i have absolutely no problem with any foreigner immigrating and becoming a citizen...as long as it is done the right way..

right now i dont think there is going to be tons of simpathy for this particular issue...many americans (legal ones that is) are pissed about lack of jobs and illegals working many jobs tends to piss people off....they can go through the hoops like thousands before them and become legal....and i believe if they want that....english should be a requirement.......if i moved to their country i wouldnt expect them to speak english to me let alone demand they print stuff in english for me...id take the time to learn it first if i really wanted to become one of their citizens...,. I agree with you on this one, Bedlum. True enough. We just wind up with different things making " sense " quite a bit...lol

Or having the race card thrown in my face, or better yet... "profiling"? I work hard for the little bit of income I make in retail, yet I am constantly being taxed for more and more services for peoples that cannot even try and become "legal us citizens" when offered the chance. I am in the poverty level of income, yet I do not partake of welfare, or any government handouts. I do my best to live within my means... and do not expect any special treatment because of my circumstance. If I do not have the money for something... I don't get it. Period. I do not consider anything a right besides human decency... This country cannot continue to be expecting everybody to take care of everyone ... and that goes for foreign aid as well. Yes, it is sad, that some peoples's lives in other countries are so bad... but the USA cannot expect everyone here to keep footing the bill. It is so out of hand now. If I work and cannot afford a luxury (not a necessity) why should people who come here illegally be able to acquire such on my tax dollars? There are people who are driving vehicles, eating and living better than I... and not working for it...they are given special preferential treatment, to me that is just wrong... Considering that most of the negative information in this post is not correct but stereotyped misinformation, you are not paying that many taxes at all if you are poor, so how many can you be supporting? Ok.. so you are saying my life as I live it... is stereotyped misinformation? I am still taxed... regardless...of how much or how inconsequential you think my amount of contribution may be... and those tax dollars are being misused. I don't really care what you say however... I know what I see in my day to day existence, and I am sure I am not the only one who witnesses this... standing in line behind someone at the store who is using their food stamps for stuff that I cannot afford... so I am being forced as are others to support someone's else's lifestyle because for some reason our government has decided it is a right for these people to have? Wishing the government would have enforced the laws for the past many years and wishing that they would not have let the families form here is a proper human way to think. Not allowing our government to start Nazi style roundups of humans in this country is proper humanity. Not wanting humans civil rights to be violated to cater to hatred or fear in this country is a proper human way to live and defend too. Wanting America to let go of the unfounded prejudice they have thinking they are better than other humans and do not have the human obligation to other humans to treat them all with humanity is also proper. You can look up the eligibility for foodstamps and it tells you this. Frauders are not that common. The garbage brokers would have you believe they are but they are not. |

Depending on how far back you evolutionist choose to go
it can be said that even the native americans aren't from America(bearing straights-great migration). So kind of stands to reason that the last man standing gets to make the rules. I find it funny and sad at the same time that only the american territories like rico, and guam have english as their official language. English is pretty much a given as the national language, immigrants who become citizens have to demonstrate that they can Not only understand it but speak it as well. I'm guessing some of you might call that racism or some. Other nonsensicle obsurdity- Me, hell I call it nationalism, if its good enough for you universal healthcare handout types then it should be good enough for our language too... its hard to communicate without agreeing what language to use,, this doesnt stop people from being multilingual, it just establishes a COMMON language to use when dealing with each other,,
i dont see the big deal,,, if you go to another country,, learn the language, learn the culture, seek out resources to help you learn,,,with the advent of internet its not really that impossible. |
