Is another man's treasure.

Anyone else like garage sales or flea markets? What is the best thing you have found at one?

We have one of the nation's top ten flea markets in town twice a year.

The best thing I've found there is the snow cone vendor.

I love flea markets, garage sales and yard sales. I go almost every weekend from Spring until Fall. Some of the best things I've ever found were a huge upright freezer for $25, a signed limited edition Bernie Parent figure for $1 and my dining room set which they were trying to sell for $40 and when I happened to drive by at the end of the day was sitting in the driveway with a sign that said "free" on it.

YEPPERS!! OH YEA OH YEA!!

there is also a place my older sister and i love to go to
its called the goodwill bins you pay by the pound of the items

thats a great place you can find antiques and collectables there at times

you know those wishing dolls that have one inside after another
well a few months back my sister and i were there and i found them in a bag. and i didnt see the stackables inside but i bought them anyhow and my sister noticed after there pepper shakers. there were 6 of them all together. i paid maybe less than a $1 for them and when i got home i was looking on the net to find out there worth $45 a pair
so that was awsome fine

there was another time my sister found a depression glass and she paid i think a 25cents as to find out it was worth about $18

i collect snowglobes and we were there the other day and i found one that had the price from the reg goodwill store mark at $10 and they gave it me by the pound for a little over a $1

i havent been to a flea market in awhile but it is a great place to go. but i love yard sales and of course the goodwill bins.... estate sales can pretty much be the best:angel:

my mom had a friend that had moved and her friend left behind this big japanes fan. what i was told you see them at times in the chinese resturants.. but any how my mom and i went to this one thrift store and they had the same fan i have in the collectors corner and they were selling it for $75.... that was cool i got mine for free....

i also found these black flower pot babies
i think i got those at a yard sale one yr. cant remember i dont think i paid that much for them.. but i cant find any info on those
one baby is sitting in a flower pot with apple leaf on its head and on the side of the flower pot is has a pic of a apple
the other one i cant recall off hand but there both black flower pot babies...

I found an old oscillascope someone was throwing out, and an old 78? Emerson computer with a tons of 51/2 inch floppies with the classics games, had the keyboard, monitor, and everything. That was my first computer and I loved it even though it was so old. A few years later I got tired of it and me and a friend decided to take it down to the school and throw it down the steps at 12 at night when we would sneak out all the time and do stupid things like that.

Flea markets are great for finding old comics as well as obscure trading cards from my youth. I love them.

I love swap meets and yard sales.Oh. And dumpster diving. Best place to dumpster dive is either at the middle class apartment complexes, or apartment complexes that are around collage campuses when school is out for the year. JACKPOT!!!!!!!!

I go to flea markets, garage sales, yard sales...they're great for finding those rare VHS's. Granted most aren't worth anything, but considering this is the only way of finding some of these movies...

I kinda like going to those but I dont typically take anything home unless I suddenly need something.

..like 'gee the closets looking cluttered, can i find some shelves?'

I will confess to loving clocks...wall hanging kind to avoid cluttering a tabletop...

I will not confess to collecting them however because I dont just pick up clocks, i say to myself, 'do i have a wall that could use one?' 'Have I noticed a need to know the time from that location with no clock available?'

weird huh.

Oh! dint mean to ramble....I found a gawgess turn o the cent style clock with no minute hand...(no tick tick tick sound) Love it.

there was a add awhile back on craigslist for free stuff
and my daughter went over there and found a few things. she came back with something for me.. its a japanses clock the clock part just needs to be replaced... i love japanese items and this was well worth it. at least to me any how

My problem with the whole garage sale thing though is having to get up so freakin early on a Saturday!!!

Best thing I found was books. Discovered an author I had never heard of and is now one of my favorites.
