A man reported to be in the country illegally is accused of killing a nun in a head-on car crash in northern Virginia.

Police say the suspect, 23-year-old Carlos Martinelly Montano of Bristow, Va., was drunk and speeding when he lost control of his Subaru Outback on Sunday and crashed into a Toyota Corolla carrying three nuns returning home from a week-long retreat in Richmond, MyFoxDC.com reported.

Montano survived and is charged with involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving -- his third drunken driving charge in five years -- MyFoxDC.com reported, and police said they are considering a higher-level homicide charge based on the circumstances of the crash.

Sister Denise Mosier of the Benedictine Monastery died in the crash.

"Sister Denise had an absolutely wonderful outlook on life," Sister Cecilia Dwyer told MyFoxDC.com. "She was a very faith-filled person and she would be the first to forgive that young man."

Police also revealed Monday that Montano is in the country illegally and the focus of deportation proceedings but was free while the case was pending, the Washington Times reported.

Wow, an illegal doing such a thing? Who would have thought. He has a lengthy criminal record with DUI's(not to mention being in the country illegally is a crime), why wasn't he deported then?

Then ICE arrested this guy and let him go free while they proceed to deport him, then he kills someone.

C'mon people, wake up. Illegals are doing more harm then good.

Faux news so it probably isn't true at allnoway

But if the nun's religion is right, it was her time, her god called her, so she wouldn't have cared who did it, right?

No pun intended at all.

When accidents happen , if you believe in god, it was divine intervention.

I think this same story gets posted monthly or something on here.

It doesn't matter who is involved in an accident. It is an accident, not intentional.

Well Fox news likes to make stuff up from time to time. Not saying this didn't happen, but any issue that can strengthen their less than Nazi, but as high as you can go right wing view they will exploit the hell out of.

Should he be deported now? No, he killed someone here and should have to face the time. (Her being a Nun should have nothing to do with this issue.)

Should he have been deported before hand? Yeah, but honestly you can't find them all. Plus most are here because, think about it. They live in dog P!ss. You look across a fence and see a McDonald's or you look behind you and see a dead coyote. Which one would you go after. Clean restrooms or a hepatitis hole? That's all off topic though so just skip that.

All this is going to do. Is get all the Bubba, redneck, KKK members standing around a portion of a fence beating the hell out of people who just want their children to have a better life.

Then the Skin-heads will show in their militant fashion and all of a sudden we have a body count.

This Nun who even her fellow sisters said would be the 1st to forgive this man. Will be used as a martyr to fuel more hate than good.

The man will have to live with his guilt the rest of his life. He should have to do the prison time here, then be deported back. This kind of stuff happens everyday, but when Billy-Bob Rufus from down the street does it, for some reason it doesn't make that big of a splash.

Just fuel for the hate machine. I have an idea let's tell them all they have to take a shower then gas the hell out of them. Throw their carcass on the fire to keep the steam engine of this hate train going.

Humanity is so D@mn dumb (I count myself with this). I absolutely abhor to call my self "Human". We are the nastiest things that has ever crawled on this planet.

Just one story in thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people who have been victims of violent crime and death at the hands of illegals that have been arrested before and not deported for some stupid reason. The family should file a wrongfull death lawsuit against the police officers and judges who kept letting this person go.If there was any justification for a preventable death this would be a good case.

the most troubling part of the story was that there were previous DUI's

the victim being a nun doesnt make her any more or less loved by her family or friends than any other DUI victim

the suspect being an illegal alien is a secondary issue to this death

About the topic.

Those types of "accidents" can be avoided.

It was no accident he is here illegally.

It is no accident he had priors and not deported.

It is love, not hate, that condemns Illegals.

Love for Country, our Citizens and the Legal Immigrants.

Once Again.

In the third week of January 2010, Fox News was the highest rated basic cable channel in primetime. This marked the first time that a news channel led the primetime ratings, beating out entertainment channels such as USA, TNT, and TBS.

Also in January 2010, Public Policy Polling reported that Fox News was the most trusted television news channel in the country with 49% of respondents stating they trust Fox News. Fox also scored the lowest level of distrust with only 37%, and was the only channel to score a net positive in that regard, with a +12%. CNN scored second in the poll with 39% of those polled stating that they trusted the news channel, and 41% stating distrust, a -2% net score.

For the year 2009 Fox News had the highest ratings in its history, topping its cable news competition in all day parts and seeing double-digit gains for all of its programs.

What can we do?

Enforce immigration laws completely. If they are illegal then arrest them and send them home. Go after and not only fine businesses that hire illegals, but the top management in jail.

Then secure the border. Use a 3 tier fence with motion detectors and CCTV the entire way. Hire more border patrol agents and have about 12-24 Predator drones flying non stop flights running across the border 24/7. Also get equipment or aircraft that can search for tunnel systems.

Illegal immigrant who killed nun in accident was released by feds

The Virginia man suspected in a drunken-driving crash that killed a Catholic nun in Prince William County this weekend is an illegal immigrant and repeat offender who was awaiting deportation and whom federal immigration authorities had released pending further proceedings, police said Monday.

Carlos Montano, a county resident, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving. Mr. Montano had been arrested two other times on drunken-driving charges, and on at least one of those occasions county police reported him to federal authorities.

"We have determined that he is in the country illegally. He has been arrested by Prince William County Police in the past, said police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

He said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified at the time of one of those arrests. "At the time of this incident, the accident yesterday, he was in the deportation process and was out on his recognizance for court proceedings."

The crash at around 8:30 Sunday morning killed Sister Denise Mosier and injured two other nuns as they were driving to a retreat at the Benedictine Monastery in Bristow, Va. The two injured nuns were in critical but stable condition late Monday, according to St. Gertrude High School in Richmond run by the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia.

Mr. Montano was being treated for injuries he received in the crash and was expected to be released from the hospital into police custody as early as Monday evening.

Messages left with ICE and the Homeland Security Department were not returned, but the incident raises questions about the agency's policy of detaining only some illegal immigrants awaiting deportation.

"I have been saying for months now that this administration's new policy of concentrating almost solely on 'criminal aliens,' and not enforcing the laws by deporting known illegal aliens, would have devastating consequences. Now, we see the tragic results this 'virtual amnesty' policy of the Obama administration has caused," said Rep. Harold Rogers of Kentucky, the ranking Republican on the House Appropriations homeland security subcommittee.

"A life could have been saved had ICE just simply done their job to begin with," Mr. Rogers said. "By implementing selective amnesty one case at a time, the U.S. government is literally putting lives at risk."

This is a sad story and it's horrible that someone was killed. However, DUIs and accidents like this are not solely things that happen because of illegals. Many American citizens have done the same thing. Not to say that it's ok, but this isn't just an issue with illegals.

Maybe this one could have been avoided if he been deported WHILE he was in jail for his first dui...so theres 2-3 laws he's breaking and still around to kill someone.

i'm all for giving someone a chance, or a break, but 3 dui's in 5 years then kills someone?...and did he even have a license? some states illegals can't get a DL, and even if they did, don't they take it away for dui's? if i was part of the nun's family, i would look into sueing the feds for not enforcing their laws. being in jail at least 2 times, and not getting deported. it's just stupid.

Not if you believe in god.

There are no accidents in the religious world.

When it is your time you will die, otherwise you will not die.

Agree with Sing, accidents are accidents and people are people. People are stupid so people make accidents happen.

Perpetuating the hatred of illegals is a Fox Favorite past time.
