Does anyone not get the irony of the topic with it's title?

"Topic: Scientifific Bible evidence."

so far the only scientific evidence thats been presented is that humans may have written the bible

They are still writing it today...uh, this time to exclude the liberal Christians...

"The Conservative Bible Project is a project utilizing the "best of the public" to render God's word into modern English without liberal translation distortions"

anyway cowboy, it was a good post. i never saw anywhere in what you wrote that said the bible was the first or only book to know this stuff, so whatever these lefties argument is, it means nothing. some people think they know everything about everything and waste to much time trying to prove it. that alone shows how much they really know.

I'm not trying to prove anything. No one can ever prove anything. Heck no one can even prove the sky is blue. It boils down to accepting the truth.
i wasn't saying you were trying to prove anything, i was talking the the other lefties...

And in response to the rest of your reply.

No one said the bible was the first or only book to know this stuff. All the bible is, is a collection of scribes in which we call books. Eg., book of job, book of matthew, ect.

In fact, there are other books. Still refered to as the holy bible, but that's why we have different interpretations eg., king james version, standard version, and many more.

The bible itself isn't what's important or what is the value. It's the knowledge inside of the bible that is the important part and the most valuable thing.

the bible has great morals in it, and everyone could get something good out of any religions bible, without having to be religious.

The bible is a great tool. It is the key to receiving the gift of heaven. All the knowledge there is on how to receive such a great gift is held inside that book people call the holy bible.

I'm thinking God shoulda hired a ghost writer. A holy ghost writer, if you will.

and perhaps one that can refrain from drinking holy spirits while writing

The only reward for sin is death. Thus the world was flooded out, eg., judgement.

And Satan still exists because if their was no evil on earth, then it would be like the garden of eden. And we were kicked out of the garden for disobeying our father, thus the reason God allows Satan to remain on earth. Satan will have his judgement in the end of times as well.

that's what I said...if God kills/murder...a believer would view it as being love ....

Judgement isn't killing or murdering. It's a judgement.

With your way of thinking judges on earth that have sentenced the death penalty should be put to death themselves. Same concept.

judges have sentence innocent people to death ...just as God have

What innocent person has God judged incorrectly?

Pompeii, Haiti, hurricane Katrina, the tidal wave in 2004 that 250,000 people,.... i could go on, but i think you see...

Who says any of those people didn't get into heaven? There's only two choices:
Heaven = Eternal life
Not receiving the gift of heave = ceasing to exist........ death.

either way they are still dead... not living anymore...

They burry the deceased. That's not "dead". Again, the only reward for sin is death. We will ALL become deceased, but we won't all become dead. In a secular world that is dead, but in the real world that is merely passing away, deceased, not DEAD.

And that is your choice. And if you don't buy into it, why spend so much time on here talking about it? What do you gain from such actions? What positive thing do you accomplish?

Heaven = Eternal life
Not receiving the gift of heave = ceasing to exist........ death.

either way they are still dead... not living anymore...

Says who? Have you talked to our father bout this? If not, how in the world would you know?
dead is dead... i think i do know....that's why they bury you when you die...because your not alive

They burry the deceased. That's not "dead". Again, the only reward for sin is death. We will ALL become deceased, but we won't all become dead. In a secular world that is dead, but in the real world that is merely passing away, deceased, not DEAD.

Here's the definition for second death

second death In a vision of the day of judgement all the dead will rise (Rev. 20: 12) and the wicked will be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev. 20: 14) to suffer their second death. Jesus gave a warning that God has the power to destroy both soul and body in hell (Matt. 10: 28).

When you stop and think about these fables how can you sincerely take them seriously?

You talk about Matthew, but here's what he wrote:

Matthew 27:

[50] Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
[51] And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
[52] And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
[53] And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

This kind of thinking is obviously false. The idea that dead bodies would be required to 'raise' souls from the dead is an utterly absurd idea, IMHO.

First off, this would be highly problematic. What would happen to the "souls" of people who's bodies were cremated or otherwise destroyed or dismembered? huh

The very idea that physical bodies are required for a spiritual existence is an idea that flies in the very face of what it means to be "spirit".

The idea of Jesus raising from the "dead" via his same physical body, and that all these supposed "saints" were raised from their graves like zombies in the movie "The Night of the Living Dead", is truly an idea that can have no merit.

So this is just yet another example of why these ancient fables are utterly absurd. If these stories had any serious merit they wouldn't contain such utter absurdities. These kinds of fables are clearly just folklore of people who believed in really simplistic superstitions.

If there is any truth to spiritual existence it's going to be an existence that is non-physical. What would Jesus need his penis for in heaven? huh

I mean, seriously. There would just be no need for a physical body like we have on Earth. In fact, if our true essence is spirit, then are true essence is not human. The human condition is a physical condition. The human body is a physical body.

These ancient Zeus-like folklore from the Mediterranean and Middle East are precisely that. Mythological folklore. They can't be true. If they have any value at all they must be taken entirely metaphorically, but clearly Matthew was not speaking in metaphors, he was making very specific concrete claims about earthquakes opening up physical graves and saints coming out of these graves. whoa

That should be enough right to there seriously question any of the writings that came from the man named Matthew.
