I have had Magnum now for a few months, one thing I never put into consideration when I got him was all the fur. Getting rid of it around the home is not that bad. I have a good vacuum. But when it comes to laundry, the fur seems to still be on it even after washing. Anybody have any tips how to stop this?

My baby.

Lint roller works like a charm.

And i keep one in every room in the house. But should that fur not come off in the wash? O_o there HAS to be a way....lol.

I was going to say the same thing, sometimes you have to lint brush your clothes before washing them.I have the same problem sometime.

he is soooo cute, I have some special plastic barbed balls that go in with the laundry. They seem to work pretty well. I am in Uk but I expect they are available in US

Really, lint roller is the best option. Dog hair has barbs which attach to whatever it touches, outside of a couple of dozen lint rollers and a vacuum it is a struggle...even with those things it is a struggle.

You can try and click your heels together and repeat something...won't work, but everything is worth a try.

Duct tape will help with the worst of it, but you never get rid of it all.

Of course, if you really looked at your clothes before you got the dog, you'd find human hair all over as well.

All dogs shed, all animals shed, it just is.

Cute pup!

I use clear box tape... it's cheap and works great

Nice dog but there's something growing out of its head!

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess there really is nothing to do except the roller. just thought there might be a special detergent or something.

Brush him, a lot. And get one of those combs that removes his undercoat.

And if people look at you funny cause ya got dog hair on your clothes, just say, "Golden Retriever", those in the know will understand, screw the others.

Even though my Cocker Spaniel does shed I don't notice it so much on my clothes. I do use the lint rollers on the furniture and vacuuming every few days helps. I also opt to keep her fur cut shorter as well to lesson the problem.

Have heard for those that shed a lot to get those brushes or mittens to brush them with will also helps if you brush them down daily in order to catch the fur prior to it ending up everywhere.

My brother has the same type of Dog.

Shave it regularly, use a lint brush, empty the lint trap in the dryer every time u use it.

 Good luck!

Nope too much work.

Just let the drifts of dog hair build then use the 5-6 pounds you can harvest every few months to make Polish Felt! It also makes great stocking stuffers!

My dogs have short coats & don't shed much so IDK! I don't really worry about it though. Between the dogs & ponies I have some kind of hair, dirt, or slobber on me most of the time!
