ruth like i said u never alone cause all ya friends an family are around

When you really start getting older, friends die off and the kids don't like hanging out with elderly folks.

You'll be lucky if they call you once a month or when they need something.
who said anything bout kids lol i just said family an friends an i dont have many close friends but i know few that will stick around till they lose there memory lol

Kind of like "use it or lose it".

That, IMO would mostly apply to women.
After mentalpause, they could really care less about any kind of intimacy.

Actually no. I tell myself so many times I don't need a man to cook, clean up after, etc. But, truthfully I can't manage alone. Not financially I can do that myself. I just need someone to love & love me back. I've never really been alone & it's scary when I am. I'm the happiest when I have someone else to think of besides wallowing in my own self pity. Men...can't live with em & this ol' gal can't live without them!!rofl

When I see this being said, I think of that song by the Fifth Demention called "One Less Bell To Answer". The lead singer "Marilyn McCoo, sang about this very thing. Being alone and growing old is not a good proposition period. It would be nice for someone to do things with comes along, but desperation is not good either. There is a fine line between being desperate and hating being old alone.

Nah. I predict that within 3.257689 years I will be with a chick who is capable of handling me. I will stay with said chick for about 1.2 years, and then have a horrendous break up. I will spend a year after this contemplating turning gay, but then will decide that being gay is not me. During this time, three chicks will show me why being gay is not beneficial, so...in a way...I won't be lonely during this period. At the end of this period, I will meet a chick who will make me her biatch. I will fall in love, marry her, and it will be happily ever after. Well, until I hit 56 when said love of my life will poison my toast, killing me and taking my life savings to run off with Roberto! That answer your question?

It would be nice to have someone, but I'm not worried about being alone. Besides, I'm never really alone, as I have the animals. And the dangers are mitigated by three pups who would protect, so I don't even get spooky with it.

I'm very independent but was married most of my adult life.. So not sure if its habit( having someone there) but I would like to have someone in my life to share everything with... I hate eating alone or with a group of women( my neighbors)...lol

I'm far from being old, so I don't really worry about this kind of thing right now.

the idea of growing old without a significant other with you?

I wouldn't be comfortable. I want to be old with someone that will still make my heart flutter.

Yes I am comfortable and accepting of that as a possibility.

I would love to find that someone who I can comfortably go into old age with but it is not a need.
