If the sour cream in my fridge doesn't expire until 2013?!

It doesn't make sense!

Your thoughts please.

I think if it was really meant to happen, then the planet would be more destroyed by now. And the sun would get way hotter. I can't see how it will happen, suddenly, just cos it realises that "Ooooh quick, it's Dec 2012. We must stick to what we told them, and ruin the world!".

Really, take a look at the world population.
It's reaching critical mass. Not 2012 ... but 2032.
But not in a "big boom" catastrophie.
Similar to the way it happened between 10,000 and 25,000 years ago ..
not withstanding the ice age, the population hit a "bottleneck" and it dropped to a total population of around 10,000 worldwide.
It will happen again, but this time we'll see a population of around one quarter million left alive out of over 6 billion.
If we take the "cosmic" bullet which is probable, we'll have less.

I don't think it'll happen, to be sure. Lol. I think most of the planet would be destroyed by now, if it was gonna happen.

think What about an asteroid/cometdevil (before you say we would know by now, are you sure? It may not have been seen yet, the government in any country may not say because if a population of over 6 billion people knew that, could it cause world wide panic?scared ), earthquakes, tsunami's, tornado's, hurricane's, WW3explodeSome kind of plagueill . I don't think they mean the end like the world being destroyedoops or complete annihilation but maybe like a new beginning, even if it means starting from an earlier way of life. I'm not saying it is going to happen but I'm not going to say it isn't, I'm just saying it's possible. Not to live in fear, because that is no way to live. If it's gonna happen then it's gonna happen. All we can do is continue living day to day because if it dosen't then things are going to continue normally.winking

We are all going to die in this physical form, that is for certain. I don't think anyone knows when.

Anything is possible. Our sun is on a journey through the galaxy. It is a dangerous journey. It is dragging the earth and all the planets with it. Hold on for the ride. It might be a rough one. We are crossing over to the other side of the galaxy. 2012 is the date we reach the galactic equator.

This rumor got started off of the Mayan calendar ending at 2012, but it was just because they did not feel that they had to go any farther...they knew they would be looooong gone by then...lol. I guess they figured that if modern man could not figure out the calendar pattern to keep it going then a calendar would be the least of our problems...lol.

a quick electron burst from a nearby star would send this planet back into the electronic stone age.

I have always considered sour cream to be dodgy and don't trust it myself.

Actually that goes for most dairy....
I mean - yogurt? is it bad? is it good? what is it? also.. it's goo that is alive. I only like live goo in a creature feature.

Cheese is ok tho.

I think there is a lot more to it than that.

Its all about the journey of our sun around the Galaxy.
