Im planning to have a baby and am concerned what is the best way to bring the child into the world. One woman saidt she did natural child birthoweverin the proces they cut open her vagina to gethe baby out,she said shewas nevr the same aftr that and am recomnding a cezerian where they cut your abdomnl muscls andtake the baby out.which is better? Do they cut all womans vaginas?iwas always wondering how a baby can get out of such a small space. And i also read some woman sit in a waterbath while the baby gets born.advise would be appreciated

Children are a GREAT responsibility which call for sacrifice and compromise and stamina. I would think if you are still trying to figure out 'how' children come out of the small space,,, it may not be a good time to be embarking upon motherhood. |

listen to ur body and ur dr its different for everyone i have three beautiful kids all c sections #1 was over due, and i didnt go into labor they induced 12 hours later they were afraid id lose her so c section #1 2# he was a planned c section cause the chance id go into natural labor was slim, he was planned, at birth he had a knot and his umbilical wrapped around his neck he would have been an emergency c section if i had him natural 3# well she was 3 months early, my water broke at 5months, so i was in the hospital till she arrived at 28 weeks 4 day, and she was breach, but i went into natural labor. i was given lots of grief by friends for not trying natural child birth but if i had i would have lost 2 of my kids, maybe all 3. there is a good chance my daughter may not be able to have kids naturally my mom had my brother and i c section to be honest the scar is small not that i care, but i was home in 3 days after birth and walking the same day i had my kids, with the exception of my last one. there are lots of choices and ways to have ur child but it will come down to can u have kids naturally and do u want to have them naturally. oh i recomend drugs lol. sounds like u ll be a great mom |

Thankyou for your advise. I know i would be a good mother. I have 20years experience and qualifications to train people. I will nurture and educate them well. Its just childbirth that im unfamiliar with andthe little i know scares me a bit. I understand now that during childbirth they will cut you,its just your choice where.i wonder which wounds heal faster?im starting to consider a cezrn will be betr. Would lhike to hear of more woman that did natural chldbirth and szrn.iwonder ifyour abdmnl muscls will be asgood as new aftr it has heald.

Hi, I have had seven children, one naturally the rest C section, the only natural birth I had was at 24 weeks, and I was to small to have the rest delivered naturally according to the doctors, I think the main way to get you mucsles back is through exercies, in australia we where shown exercises to get you pelvic floor muscles back to normal and your stomach muscles, so I never had a problem.

I can't speak for mainstream medical procedures in the US, however, here in Australia, an episiotomy, which is a small incision made in the perineum, (the strong fibrous tissue between the base of the outer vaginal walls and the anus)...usually an inch long incision requiring 3 or so disolvable sutures is all that is required, ONLY in the cases of a vaginal delivery running the risk of tearing...a small clean straight incision is preferrable to tearing, as the scarring is minimised, and healing times, much quicker.
The vaginal walls are extremely elastic, and evolution has made sure that we are designed to deliver naturally, however, in saying that, extremely narrow pelvic cavities and large babies do not mix, then caesarians are recommended, and usually administering an epidural block is preferrable to a general anaesthetic. The quickest way to receive an education on ALL procedures involving childbirth is to enrol in a prenatal birth clss, where all options are discussed and dvds are available to help you make an educated decision on how best to deliver a newborn. I have been blessed with 4 children, all of them natural deliveries, no tearing, nor interventions required, no drugs, and all of them quick deliveries, ranging from an hour and a half to two and a half hours....education....education....education...I am cringing here wondering who on earth can get to this age and not know how one's vagina works, but can contemplate pregnancy. |

i had all normal deliveries and had an episiotomy too, eventhough my first daughter was born premature but i had a difficulties to push her out...she was too tiny, i dont know why i couldnt pushed her out easily lol..thats why i had an episiotomy to speed up the labour... It was painful a bit (but better than steroids injection).. But you Dont have to worry, pain is def worth it.... You will be enjoy every second when you have ur own baby.

However, and given the level of trauma and potential for infections, a c-section is really only a last resort, especially in this county. We covered this topic in our last obgyn visit and the doctor recommended natural. They only snip you if it's necessary. My fiance has had 3 babies previously, all 9 lbs, all natural. T-24 weeks 6 days. :-) |

I knew a young woman that gave birth in every way , she said under water was best and easier but this method isnt offered in every state to my knowledge. Good luck.

I have always had to have c-sections, I am not built right to have babies naturally. Everyone says that is the easy way out BUT I think they forget how much we have to go through after the birth.
The bad thing about c-sections is that you are out of it and could care less about anything except sleeping. All I can say to you is make sure that you have things out of the way that you want to do....like traveling and pampering yourself. After you have that baby, you don't really count...your baby will be number one!!! Good Luck |

They don't cut all vaginas,some just tear..like my baby Momma's
We stayed In Edmonton because her Doctor was in the top three of all of Canada plus she had a miscarriage at 5 months so this time she had a suture for an incompetent cervix.she induced 7 woman at once and she ended up busy so some strange Doctor came in.I was suppose to cut the cord but it was wrapped around his neck as many times possible and evey time he would come out he was getting strangled and you could hear his heart rate about stop. he had to cut the cord a few time for him to come.then when he came out he just floped in the tray past out so they sucked his mouth out and bag & masked him while the doctor beat him on the feet until he responded.They cleaned him up and passed him to me. When he heard my voice he stoped crying and opened his eyes he reconized my voice because I would always talk to him even in the first few months of pregnancy, despite been away working a lot. I would say stuff like "who's the sweetest fetus"..lol I know the Doctor was stitching for a long time; lots inside and out. I guess some woman won't tear. "Its weird watching that, its kinda like watching your favorite restaurant burn to the ground. they will rebuild it;sure!.. you'll eat there again ..but, its,never going to be quite the same". Jk..lol you'll be fine; enjoy your experience. |

I always wanted natural (with drugs;-) )childbirth but I'm glad nothing down there ripped or got cut or stitched...yuck!!! To OP go natural unless doc says otherwise! |

I've learnt a lot from watching my mum constantly struggle. I say, put your priorities in order, before bringing a child into this world. It's one thing to want a baby, it's definitely another once it arrives ;)

A C-section is Major Surgery. It wasn't my first choice and if I could have delivered the baby vaginally, I would have. I have a scar about 6 inches long and they cut your stomach muscles. You get a catheter put in before surgery also. You also don't get to hold your baby right away because you are strapped down and your body is all numb from the neck down. It takes about 9-12 months to completely heal from it. You can't carry anything heavier than the baby for about 4-6 weeks after delivery.
An episiotomy will heal in a week or 2 IF you need one. With a normal vaginal child birth, you are up an about much quicker. There is NO comparison between the 2. Childbirth changes your body no matter which way you deliver. Do what is best for the baby. He/she is your 1st priority. |
