I was watching a great video Inside Zero Hour about 9/11. There was a part talking about how the fighter planes were given the order to take down any planes that didn't comply.

I cant imagine what just getting the order from the White House to take down a plane with hundreds of innocent men, women and children in an effort to save thousands. I can't imagine having to actually go through with it. Yea sure they are trained to go after and take out the enemy but to kill the people they took an oath to protect? I don't think I could do it, could you?

A cop will never be given an order like this. Being a cop is completely different.

no, one gets an order to kill, the other is just placed in positions where he determines who he should kill,,,,,

It no where comes in to comparison. A cop is put in the position to kill a very bad person. Under this order the military is ordered to kill A LOT of very good people including women and babies.

I get the point there. But cops are called upon in an instant to determine what 'bad' is, and they are often wrong,,,

not a position I would ever want, taking someones life because I thought they were a 'bad' person,,,,,

anymore than I would want to have to take peoples lives (not knowing if they are good or bad or a mixture) in order to save others,,,

Yeah, they shoot an airliner down over a populated city. What happens to the civilians on the ground when it hits? Let us say it landed in a residential district?

I would hope that the Air Force is smarter than that!

I also wonder how Obama would buck and wing if his orders caused the deaths of THOUSANDS all because an Airliner strayed off course?

Gutless coward would probably throw his own wife under a train if he thought it would save his own skin!

Taking anyone's life is never an easy thing.
This could very well fall in question as an unlawful order.
Then again you have to ask how many people will this save?
And the oath is to uphold and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
Not people.
Yes I could do it.

Acording to OweBummer, he has the right to kll American citizens now. All he has to do is say "It's alright because I said so!"

He also has the right to make you disappear if you disagree with him!

Everyone who supports him seems to think that's ok... after all, he'd never violate the constitution....just change it to make him innocent, and you guilty!

200 years of liberty and rights down the drain in one term... imagine what he can do in two! Oh yeah, give our Eastern Europe missle defense plans to Russia when he's re-elected and has more "flexibility".....I forgot

Mmm this is probably no different than the
call to arms for war.
You expect to kill a few to save many.
Personally, I could not value one
life against another.
But I would expect those in charge
to make the call.
Duty, and all.

My understanding if it's an unlawful order the people who issued the order would be the ones who are held accountable unless the person carrying it out knew that it was unlawful.

The order given on 9/11 was lawful.

now in Afghanistan....just to name a few.....

Those who make the laws consider themselves above them. They appoint their chosen heros for us to personify with...... or persecute.

Oliver North is a PERFECT example!

"All the world's a stage...we are just the actors...."

The directors need fired!

I wish they would have followed standerd operating procedure for a plane off course on 911. Maybe then we wouldnt be involved in these bankrupting wars.

Aviation Intercepts

Typical Procedures

It is important for people to understand that scrambling jet fighters to intercept aircraft showing the signs of experiencing "IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES" such as going off course without authorization, losing a transponder signal and/or losing radio contact is a common and routine task executed jointly between the FAA and NORAD controllers. The entire "national defense-first responder" intercept system has many highly-trained civilian and military personnel who are committed and well-trained to this task. FAA and NORAD continuously monitor our skies and fighter planes and pilots are on the ready 24/7 to handle these situations. Jet fighters typically intercept any suspect plane over the United States within 10 - 15 minutes of notification of a problem [1]. So, why was this particular day any different? Why weren’t the standard operating procedures for aviation intercept followed?

No, if I could, I would have joined the military a long time ago. Although, I did manufacture circuit boards and many were for the military and used in weapons and equipment such as J-DAM, HUD headsets, tanks, aircraft, Predator drones, etc.

is it acceptable to kill a few hundred to save a few thousand people?

what would have been the reaction of the people if they had shot down the planes before they hit the WTC? since they would have never known what was happening, they would have wanted bushes head on a platter for it.

but to answer your question, yes, no problem at all with it...

The real quistion is why they didnt intercept. It is after all standerd procedure.

They didnt bother to intercept at all no real effort, as if they wanted it to happen. Thats my opinion it is far more logical than what happened.
