I went to a First Aid class tonight and left my cell phone at home. I just checked it- 14 texts from the same woman; started with "hi, what are you up to", then "hello, hello" "are you there" then "why won't you talk to me" and ended with "azzhole". This is not the first time nor the first woman to act like this. I brush these women off, but is their a set of "rules" for texting?

don't text fourteen times if you're getting no replies.

That sounds like the woman who cursed me because I had the audacity to reply to her email. She was upset I was "on" the computer. laugh

Sounds like you dodged a bullet. People that are that wacko over a casual text convo can you imagine how weird they would be over a real problem? Yikes.

That kind of aggression is more typical of male stalkers but it seems to more and more common in females and I think it is the growing combination addcictions that seem to foster OCD/mania.

Well I am a huge TEXTER! Sometimes if I have a lot to say I say it, but if there is no response right away
I don't trip because they might be in the middle of something or driving! I have scared a couple guys off by texting or quoting words from songs once in a while lol & if they are that shallow then I don't give a crap!

Hahah my last b/f would get all upset if he did not get a response real quick when it came to texting and I'm not big on texting. I do text back when I see it but I don't have my phone in my hand at all times...

And if I'm driving sorry I'm not texting cause it takes me too long...they can wait...slaphead

Sounds like to me I would leave that one where I found her she is a bit too much...

I've only had it happen with a few overly-clingy men. I mean REALLY clingy. The type where they thought they'd practically die if i did so much as to walk to the damn shop. Am i not allowed a life of my own? It get tedious. You end up feeling pressured and basically just nagged at, constantly. Is something that important that it can't wait? It just ticks me off. I can't tolerate impatient people. Well i mean i wouldn't date one ever again. I have to live, breathe and eat. I'm not a slave. :O

That is hilarious! I suppose it is a weed out process. I am very neglectful when it comes to my phone so I tend to be on the side you were. I completely understand where you are coming from.
Crazy people!! Whew...next?! laugh

My rule - don't give out my cell number, use google voice instead.
At least until I know they aren't crazy ;p

I've got a guy friend who is doing this crap. It's really pissed me off. And now I'm forced to leave the cell on vibrate all the time after he rang through 4 times back to back when I was manhandling the goat to give him a shot. Nothing like 150lbs crunching your foot as the goat spooks. Least I didn't get stuck with the needle!

I don't know why people do that. I don't put up with it anymore, even with friends.

I've always thought the best thing about texting is you can reply when you have the time. It's not as invasive as a phone call.

However, there are people that think the time you take to reply means something. If you reply soon, it means that person is high on your list of important things to take care of. If you're slow, it must mean they're low on that list.

Some people use it as a sort of head game.

I agree with you.

And the point about the guys having more of an issue with the time it takes to get a response back from a text, I disagree with. Alot of the guys I know don't even like to text.

I'm sorry. That statement was referring to someone else's post.
