I've heard stories about true love, and how many have come to find it, but it sounds so untrue to me because so many cases of divorce come up everyday, and these divorce cases are from couples who though they were in Love, or somehow along the way they lost it. So friends, kindly give your candid opinion and i'm sure in doing this we can learn how to minimise superficial love.

I couldn't agree more. I would like to think that there is such a thing. But I'm not sure. However although you do hear about divorce etc. You also hear about couples married for decades and when one died the other followed shortly after. I once asked a woman who had been married for 50 years what the secret was. She told me a relationship based on friendship with some intimacy mixed in. Don't know ifits true but I'm willing to give it a try one day.

I think love is misrepresented by Hollywood media. It's not just about physical attraction, but, like previously said here, it is about friendship, similar goals, loyalty and commitment. So many people today have this unrealistic ideal of the perfect relationship. Then, when one partner falls short of these expectations, disappointment sets in. People are just not willing to compromise and sacrifice for the person they love. Many people enter a relationship thinking that they can change their partner into what they want them to be. This in turn creates resentment when people start to feel rejected and inadequate because of their partner desire to change who they are. if people accepted each other just as they are and practice more tolerance then, perhaps, we would see more successful relationships... just a little humble contribution to this discussion...

I kinda agree with the woman, because i have realized that Love fades with time, but if you make your partner your best friend or if you make your partner your best friend during courtship, there is a high tendency that whenever love fades between them, they would not notice because their friendship will take them a long way, and probably till death separates them.

Yeah thats true, you've pointed out another aspect, Hollywood build up fantacies in us, and when most of us are faced with the realities of life, we opt for divorce. Whatever the case may be i truely believe in love and hope to experience it to the max.

YES IT DOES!

Ive had it a few times, once, just recently!

Its that "knock you upside the head, beautiful, passionate, real, true" kind of love, that some people spend their whole life looking for,

and it CAN be found.

Just dont..

EVER GIVE UP ON LOVE,

EVER LET YOUR LIFE HAVE TO INCLUDE LOVE TO BE GREAT,

SPEND TOO MUCH TIME LOOKING FOR LOVE,

HAVE A WALL BUILT UP AROUND YOU SOO HIGH, BECAUSE OF BAD PAST EXPERIENCES, THAT WHEN TRUE LOVE DOES COME AROUND, YOU CANT SEE IT, AND IT CANT GET TO YOU.

Im not yelling, just speaking with passion, and true faith and belief in TRUE LOVE!

To me true love is jus a word to explain a relationship. However a foundation is the key. Jus like buildin the foundation has to be strong and firm to carry the weight to come. So a relationship need foundation. Here's wat makes the foundation, quality time spent not tryin to be in a relationship wit the person but for friendship wit hope of something long term by doin this you get to no the real person like the simple things that really matters, build chemistry and a surroundin thats filled ambition, dedication and loyalty, by doin this you wil no how dedicated the person is about the proceedin relationship, then trust and honesty wil build from all the above mostly from the chemistry you both built yes their wil be intimacy to feel closer to the person but gain the foundation will take maybe yrs then marriage can come in. Marriage is a document sayin your legally together but the foundation states why you belong together and determins how long the relationship wil last. A wel built foundation means decades of a happy romantic and truly blessed marriage this were the words my my grandmother who was married 65yrs had 12kids and over 50grand kids and 27 great grand. And when i Look into wat she said its true cos no good home last long without a great foundation. And to me celebrities only marry for jus marryin which endin in so many divorce. As for me i dnt care if i ever marry but i do wish to live wit a person for yrs and be happy than to marry and end with pain

True love exist I never experience that feeling but love..it do exist. What you are experiencing from people is the bad case of hurt, you know that past relationship when bad, cheating, lies, sleeping around type of thing..LLS.To me that count is over my head(HIV/AID/ STD and the new STD's, whatever it is people should be a hell of alot careful out here. So when you do find that true love make him/her get tested.

I think true love comes in many forms. There is the FEELING of true love, I have had it plenty of times. It just requires an unselfish desire for the HAPPINESS and HEALTH of someone else. Not just a passing contentment with others happiness but an actual DESIRE for their happiness and health.

Sadly, I dont think true love is all it takes to make a relationship work because we can require one thing for our own happiness that isnt the same thing our 'true love' requires.

and if we TRULY LOVE ourself, it becomes hard to justify that major difference between two individuals,, when what makes them both happy or healthy becomes so different that it is unable to be maintained,,,,the relationship dissolves

BUT, IF true happiness is achieved by merely experiencing life beside someone and that happiness SUPERCEDES any other type of happiness,,,,true love makes for a lasting and lifelong commitment to each other,,

Having answered this question a million times it feels like, I will just say yes it exists. There are thousands of people in it everyday. Just because someone is not experiencing it, does not make those people cease to exist.

You see it in those Nicholas Sparks movies. Ever notice that in his movies, someone dies? Lol. Like, you can't have true love without someone dying of something like a nail to the head. Or maybe ole Nicholas is just weird like that.

True love exists...

But, it costs more than money.
