I guess its an 'aw poor men' thread, since women are supposed to take note.

Hopefully its really a 'women, get away from these men fast and find another pronto since these are signs of great immaturity'...but I doubt it.

Im assuming the list only applies to men because the author forgets that women are also human and meet the same qualities if they are as foolish.
 my comments have been along the lines of men take note because I figgered a need for perspective...lolshocked

Those same reasons could also be applied to a woman. Just a few edits here and there.

The only problem I see is if someone is hanging onto the past, or the what could be, then they really never started a relationship fresh. Which I think should be a no brainer. You can't hold an entire gender responsible for the actions of one bad apple.
The bad apples are many, not one

True indeed. frustrated

CAUTION: although I think its certainly probable that some people are 'afraid' of commitment

as a society we also have to be careful every time someone disapproves or dislikes or isn't interested in something, that it has to do with 'fear'

some just have no interest in commitment, and I don't see anything wrong with that,,as long as they aren't misleading others

its where they are in their life journey...

What a pile. I never considered the high rate of divorce in determining whether I should commit to someone or not. Nor did I dwell on someone "hurting me in the past" (man up). Missing out on a more beautiful woman? You may be lucky the woman you are with let you in her britches in the first place. And last but not least...the fear of responsibility? Come on maaaaaaan! This wouldn't be why a feller won't commit to a gal but it would be a BIG REASON a gal won't commit to a feller. Can't remember the last time I heard a woman say she was just crazy about a man that shirks responsibility.

My REASONS for not committing to a woman are:

1) When I was younger I was a douche bag.

2) Mature me was able to discern when I was not be the best choice for a particular woman. (e.g. one is a homebody, the other a party animal)***

3) Conversely, I was able to discern that a particular woman was not the best choice for me. (e.g. one wants kids, one does not)***

***Examples in citations 2 and 3 are for illustrative purposes only and do not reflect the authors personal feelings or experiences

This must be for the boys club, Men don't think like this....Hogwash!

A man always takes responsibility period

A man learns from his past mistakes and tries not to do a repeat and move on

The woman I am with becomes the most beautiful to me

High rate of divorce is true, maybe don't get married, or not right away?

live, learn, and quit bit chin...

We need reality,not sounding good

Your perception is your Reality. Obviously yours is pessimistic. Mine is not.

It says nothing about being perfect, which is also included in my perspective.

Many people have difficulty handling responsibility.
I don't think it's right to always look for causes or blame in past relationships. Mostly causes of things going wrong in adult life are to be found in someone's childhood. This can cause relationships to not work out until that person get his childhood issues sussed. That's part of becoming a (emotionally) mature, well-rounded person.
Doesn't mean there's something wrong with that person. Everyone has childhood issues and we're supposed to work these out in adult life. And sometimes it takes a relationship (or more) to do this. And some never learn.

In todays world with all this selfishness, greedyness and coldness..

Who wants to get hitched really?. Marriages only last as long as the money lasts. Its a bleak view of the world I know sad
