HI there just an observation but am finding on dating sites that photos posted seem to be somber and not smiling which in turn for me can sometimes lend to a different feel to the person you are viewing... I understand that a picture is just a picture however it can also make the difference between a person reaching out or not... just sayin

lol, I think they do. At least I hope they do. Though from their choice of profile pics,, I can understand why you ask.

On line research tells you that you should be smiling in your pictures(I guess they know that smiles attract friendliness and other nice things!) Do you suppose that some people have "angry Profiles"? If they do, then why should they smile? Beautiful attitudes equal beautiful smiles!

some of the pictures I come across they look almost terrifying and the chance of meeting goes out the window much less talking to them..

I agree totally... hence if you are are to pick from two people one smiling one not who do you think the winner would be..

I have seen angry profiles too. haha, I wonder how much action they get.surprised

some of them go on and on about what they hate about women, but they are also pretty vague, so anyone could fit into their description a bit. They might as well say, "I hate women, and I will punish you for being one, for the rest of your life if I get the chance" Then they say, "email me" haha.

 i think the smile in the first of my post make me one of innocent people and my profile picture is a body without a head winking
but you are right we need to be happy so we have to smile even if in
our profile picture

<<<<< was nicknamed bubbly in high school because I smiled so much and saw the positive over the negative

also nicknamed Sinclair, after high school, (after the silly roommate on living single) because I usually smiled and saw the positive over the negative,,,

does anyone smile out there

Seems it's better for guys if they don't.

If you are looking for a guy for a romantic, sexual, mating relationship it's better if the guy doesn't smile.

If you are looking for a happy, friendly guy to just hang out and be friends and have him validate you socially and emotionally with attention and entertain you, then you'd want to be looking for Grinny Mchappymeal.

So yes, people smile.
Just ask yourself if that's really what you want.

I'm not smiling in my photo and I look kind of stern but I was concentrating so hard not to smile too much that it ended up like that I'm not very good at the whole pic thing ohwell

Some people should not smile for the sake of everyone's safety.

Hi Op
I know what your saying ...
about some pics of some men are scary
and you don't know what to think ...
but I like how the site lets you put and use any picture you want ...
or even no picture at all ... I can't believe which guess its not to hard to but seeing so many men from countries you can't even pronounce noway and understand what the men have been talking about all this time with mail they get from these girls and women nice then ask for $ ... your smiling so thats nice ... if your trying to find someone does it help who knows... does showing cleavage help who knows and man boy with a shirt off who knows ... having a smile does not always tell you something about someone ... just look up... lmao

The whole smiling thing is creepy. I have stood there smiling for this very purpose, but left feeling insincere and insane looking. Ms. Right will make me smile :)
