I am usually content sitting back and watching it hit the fan from one side of the fence or the other. But I root for neither side. Things are too soft and giving on the Democratic side, and too Stringent and God loving on the Republican.

So I am a party of my own and things changed for the better once I chose to do that. I suppose if I HAD to identify with a party, it would be the independent. Why? Because I happen to like my freedoms, even though this whole bipartisan system is eroding those that are left.

So my question is ... why did you choose one party or the other?

I don't really.
I select the best candidate for the job,

On that note, every President since I began
voting in the early 70's, is the one I voted
for except once, when I voted for Gore over Bush Jr.

I chose to be a Republican because of the stances on business, national security, crime, illegal immigration and the economy. I am not really religious, I believe in god but that's about it so that has nothing to do with it. I also do have some liberal agendas I support like Gay Marriage and Abortion (let me clarify, I am against abortion but I don't think it's the Governments right to decide.

The driving factor would be National Security. It's the one thing that the Democrats have ALWAYS dropped the ball on.

I think I'm independent although in my state there is no such thing so I'm unaffiliated

the leaders have gone so far away from the agenda's of are for fathers and all there hopes and dreams to now a days it just turns out to be who can get away with the most ... again i could point out many that have all ready been busted over and over again , but again what is the point

so you are more then welcome to think that for witch ever puppet you want in charge be of your own free will

now its all done by computers , cause we all know no one can hack a computer and what better way since there is no longer a paper trail

I don't belong to any herd mentality.

I wrote in Ron Paul the last two elections.
He was the most qualified.

I chose democrat because their talking heads at least SEEM consistent in their concern for human beings,,,,rather than just profit and money

republicans , to be honest, seem to have more 'religious' basics in their rhetoric, but the bottom line of their policies seems anything but,,,,, at least to me,,,

I don't understand why anyone would choose to belong to a political party...An alliance of people competing AGAINST each other for political power...While it's true that Independent voters are on the rise, just how independent are they...What really determines party choice?...Ever since 1968 when I found myself trying to decide between Hubert Humphrey, Richard Nixon and George Wallace, I knew I did not want to belong to any party...Labels are for things we store in containers...

I register with one of the two major political parties, because I want to be able to vote in ALL the elections; when and if they change Those Rules completely, I may change my registration.

For the first 30 years of my voting life, I was registered Republican, as fiscally, I agreed with their overall positions more often than not. I stood by *my* party, despite their stance on women, abortions, and a few other causes near-and-dear to me; I was OK seeing the Big Picture.

When *my* party decided that those within it either had to subscribe to their agenda 100% or they didn't want 'em, I left and registered Democrat, partly just to piss 'em off, but mostly because they'd gone over the edge and became hell-bent on taking EVERYone and EVERYthing down with them.




Regardless of how I register, I'll continue to vote for candidates and issues based on MY views, regardless of whether others are turning blue or red in their faces while screaming at me about how I SHOULD vote...as I have for the past 35+ years.

Uh, "Junior" is not a part of the name of President George Walker Bush, because his name isn't identical to his father's.

However, back in 2000, George Walker Bush ran against Albert Arnold Gore, Junior.

They fought for freedom. He's expressing his freedom by choosing not to vote.

They died so we could have elections and not be ruled by a dictator, hence the voting system.

I know plenty of folks that don;t vote..

I don't want to get into an argument. I just think its a shame when people don't use their vote.
Then you watch people in the likes of Afghanistan, Iraq and some other places who die while trying to vote.

So, you sit silently while every other Dittohead/Teabagger/Republican calls President Obama things like "Obummer" and such, but lose your patience with somebody referring to President George W. Bush as "Bush Jr.?"
