Just more targeting of Christians.
They are NOT going to Jewish/Kosher bakers or Muslim ones, or even Hindu. * That wouldn't make the news *

Christian tolerance & Freedom of Religion is what American WAS based on.

IMO: something is seriously wrong & something is seriously lacking, with people who NEED universal approval.

You asked for it! bigsmile

On August 1, 2012, businesses and organizations must begin renewing health insurance benefits that include, free of charge, contraceptives, abortion inducing drugs, and sterilization.

We need more services like that on this planet.

As a consumer, everyone has a choice on where to spend their money.

As a businessman, I should get to choose who I do work for also.

It's all about choice IMO If you choose a "gay bakery" to make a "anti-gay cake"
You sure it's about cake and NOT trouble making? whoa

on the bright side, the public has empathized about this restaurants being bullied and the owners are now millionaires,,,,

this is like when women that weren't really raped claim they were
when people that aren't being discriminated against jump on the civil rights wagon

Why couldn't the bakery just bake a cake? Why do they care about people's private lives.. as long as they are getting paid to bake cakes? It seems like the bakery has the agenda not the cake customers. It's just a stupid cake right?

just like you voice your opinion for hating men, they are voicing their opinion for anti-gay...

i think a bigger question is why the gays would force them to bake a cake for them?

spit, pee, dirt, no telling what would be in the cake...

I would say it is the principle and it is closer or justice served. It is kind of putting them in their place publicly.

Putting who in their place?

Sorry, forgot to add that. I live in Indiana and our governor passed a law saying gays can be rejected. I think gays want to put those businesses in their place and shine light on them wanting to have a public business and them wanting to reject someone. I think they should make their business like Sams club and you have to have a membership if you don't want it to be public.

noone should be rejected in any establishment for their race, gender, nationality

but they should be able to be rejected based on BEHAVIOR and business owners should be able to opt out of environments with behaviors that would make them uncomfortable to be in the middle of

if you are an alcholic, and you come in my store, as long as you arent BEHAVING in a drunken fashion, it should not be my business and I should serve the customer

if you are having an open bar summer berak party and I am opposed to driking, I shouldnt be FORCED to cater your event

Exactly...

Again, spot on....

I shouldnt
be FORCED to cater your event
No you shouldnt. But this is exactly what has happened in several states who have laws pertaining to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. There have been quite a few stories of business owners facing fines after turning down requests to serve a gay couples wedding....the one bakery in CO, and a flower shop in Washington come to mind.
Both owners declined service citing religious beliefs. Do we discount one's rights for another? And is sexual preference now on equal footing as race or gender? Seems so....the inmates are now running the asylum.

The funny part about this latest brouhaha in Indiana is that no specific transaction even happened. A local pizzeria owner was asked by a reporter if she would cater a gay wedding.....and because she said she wouldnt, the business was accosted ferociously on social media amd even faced threats of arson. God bless the new America....we damn sure seem to need it.

you 1th Amendment-Rights don't cease to exist just because you happen to operate a Bakery!
That's why it is called a Right, rather than a Privilege!
Government has NO right to tamper with any of the Rights guarantied by the Constitution!

sure,in the past,Government said,Let them Eat Cake, and the same Idiots no say,Let them Bake Cake!
Same blithering Fools!
And on top of that you have a small minority who think it proper to have Government coerce others to do their bidding!
It's sheer stupidity to claim discrimination by one Bakery when I can get a Cake baked by a hundred Cake-Shops!
That alone shows it is not about Cake, but about Coercion!

Anything govt is all about force! Rights be damned in their book.

Dubya called our Constitution a "200 year old piece of parchment" when he signed the Patriot Act into existence, and our current clown has followed suit even behind his eloquent speeches about liberty, rights, and the document he swore an oath to defend while trying his best to ignore, change, or otherwise translate it to fit his agenda while in office.

You can't keep what you're not willing to defend in this day and age and sadly, few have a desire to defend anything any more, even their own rights or liberty.

Its really sad people are defending the cake shop who judges the sexual preferences of their customers of all things. It's easy to see all the arguments in favor of the cake shop are complete nonsense. Do any of you in favor of the cake shop think you might benefit from a crash course in ethics/philosophy or does your religious/political stance forbid you from using your brain?

The cake shop is NOT judging the sexual preferences of their customers. Where are you hearing such ridiculous things? The cake shop is refusing to make a pro-gay marriage cake, because it doesn't believe in same-sex marriage. There is a difference.

Why does the cake shop care about a gay message on a cake?? It is none of their business and it hurts no one.

If it goes against their belief and they make the cake...then it IS their business
