Expecting our law enforcement to 'Self Report' --- Gee, do you think they'll do that! surprised
DOJ - Request A IAPC Report: Police abuse is a problem that’s often politically complicated for the Justice Department to highlight, Karakatsanis says, because of its inherent conflict of interest in working with state and local law enforcement. As he says, “To view DOJ as a beacon of accountability is not correct. They depend on these cops to make arrests. All these local cops are part of DOJ-led federal task forces.”

Reliable data on police abuse is almost impossible to come by, and here too the federal government has failed to step up. In response to public outrage after the 1991 Rodney King beating, Congress passed a 1994 law that mandated an annual report on police violence. At the Justice Department’s request, the International Association of Police Chiefs (IAPC) conducted a pilot study. But according to John Firman, director of development of the IAPC, after a year the Justice Department shut it down after only 600 out of about 18,000 police departments in the country reported back. The law had no means of forcing cooperation, Firman added.

What many {even I had no idea} assume about our police/sheriff departments; that they compile/keep/retrain all of these records for state/federal 'Self-reporting'---Naaaaa, just doesn't happen - that 'Blue Code of Silence' is better then then Fort Knox for keeping things quiet like...how many unarmed deaths have occurred while in law enforcement custody! And out here in rural America --- many-many of us are still not on a computerized data processed system and we're for sure not linked to any state or federal reporting system either! spock

Lets assume this story is true (I googled and only found that one article and I would think it would be all over the internet if true, but Ill give the benefit of doubt that a more credible source may show up).....but, assuming its true, how does that justify the looting and burning?

Had you been able to scroll down and look at the links/video options that were included there {geeze} but "that one article" had so many teachers and parents and other ADULTS that just didn't have a DOG IN THIS FIGHT - until the RIOT PATROL shut those school buses down and left all those kids stranded!!! Did you contact your "reliable sources" as ask them why they didn't cover this??? LMAO

But it's to troublesome to read - I get itwinking

"how does that justify the looting and burning?" slaphead
Hmmm - no more then my many images of those frat & sorority college kids trashing property and causing soooo much damage with their 'FUN & FIRE' after a basketball win/football win --- Nope, no justification that I'm aware of! whoa
Hmmm - no more then being a running black man in America with a rap sheet {that the police would or wouldn't know about as they are handcuffing him and dragging his limp immobile body off into that paddy wagon} and then the black man dies - what part of our legal system "justifies" dead in America because you got nabbed by the police --- "Justifying the Looting & Burning"...seems to be the #1 thing that gets the 'non-white' humans hung up on the issues when they don't live in the areas of the 'racial profiling'---there's a word for that...hmmmthink

Ah.....so youre just fanning the flames with your link then....got it.

no more then being a running black
man in America with a rap sheet {that the
police would or wouldn't know about as they
are handcuffing him and dragging his limp
immobile body off into that paddy wagon} and
then the black man dies - what part of our
legal system "justifies" dead in America
because you got nabbed by the police --
No one agrees that he shouldve died, but......it would be great if we could turn back time and see what wouldve happened if he wouldnt have ran. And see what would have happened if Mr. Gray hadnt made so many crappy life decisions and acrued his lengthy arrest record.
Hell, I bet he was even gonna start college next week, right?

"Justifying the Looting & Burning"

Nothing justifies it Even yourbeloved Obama said so yesterday.....he even called them "thugs".

"Justifying the Looting & Burning"...seems to
be the #1 thing that gets the 'non-white'
humans hung up on the issues when they
don't live in the areas of the 'racial

Then why do you keep asking the redundant question; as if people actually support the 'LOOTING & BONFIRES'...DUH?

Never let the lack of in depth reading the link stop you from greater understandinglaugh

Seems the mindset and attitude that keeps projecting the 'that is how THOSE PEOPLE BEHAVE' cause you to miss the point that not all inner cities are able to OWN SCHOOL BUSES and that utilizing city buses is how they transport children to & from schools.

Yipper; that manage traffic flow/smog control and transportation routes that already exist --- but you being a 'MAN'---I knew you'd be able to figure that out ALL ON YOUR little own; but WOW - I was soooo wrong? What a SHOCKER?

FEMA is another waste of taxpayer money for all the good they do!

FEMA's handling of Katrina does live in infamy here on the gulf coast, but it's not the only jewel in their crown! The actions (or lack of) by FEMA and its personnel putting people in trailers infected with mold spores that sickened them for life, rejecting outside aid of others ready, willing, and able to help, forced relocations without opportunities to possibly reclaim any family possessions, lost paperwork, mismanagement of funds, fraud, theft of funds from people who couldn't fill out forms for themselves, making themselves beneficiaries instead of having simple power of attorney to do so, receiving peoples aid checks, then denying them benefits or recourse to do anything about it, shortages of food, water, facilities, or necessary security, mistreatment/maltreatment and abuse of survivors..... shall I continue?

Your tax dollars at work under federal management!

Bush was given bad information about the whole process. He was told FEMA had it "under control". Many changes happened after he found the truth out but it was far too little, too late..... the damage had long been done

Allow me to quote YOUR post.....

"" RIOT PATROL shut those school

The CITY buses were shut down because the AFRICAN AMERICAN DEMOCRAT police chief and the AFRICAN AMERICAN DEMOCRAT mayor believed they had received credible info about possible attacks against police. But you keep up your narrative that the same mayor and police chief of a city thats 63% African American hatched some grand scheme to piss off those said citizens.

Wrong Bush for Katrina....but you should receive a Liberal gold star for working in a "It's Bush's fault" reference for Baltimore.

I hate when crooks take over legitimate protests,,,,grrr

it is a disgrace to act in this manner.. mob mentality.

But I did see a photo that showed the other side of this. The responsible side

A mom ( black), smacking the living hell out of her son.. who she found rioting.

My impression was that someone told her that her son was down there. And she said " oh ..really!!".. marched down there, grabbed him and beat his a** all the way home

Now, that is responsible parent

Between 4:20 and 6 pm today there were 2 black males shot and 1 black female shot in West Baltimore.

This goes on day in and day out. I can only imagine if they ever decided to riot over them shooting and killing one another.

There are so many shootings that the city would be razed in about 2 weeks.

As a follow up ...

At 8:10 a man was shot multiple times and died at the hospital.

So... Within 4 hours 4 people were shot and 1 died last evening.

According to the media it was a peaceful night....

Democrats goofed!
As usual!

A few weeks ago, there was an election in Ferguson, Mo., the result of which was to treble the number of African Americans on that unhappy suburb's city council. This was greeted in some corners with optimism now, at last, the city's black residents would have a chance to see to securing their own interests. This optimism flies in the face of evidence near St. Louis and far Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco . . . St. Louis has not had a Republican mayor since the 1940s, and in its most recent elections for the board of aldermen there was no Republican in the majority of the contests; the city is overwhelmingly Democratic, effectively a single-party political monopoly from its schools to its police department. Baltimore has seen two Republicans sit in the mayor's office since the 1920s and none since the 1960s. Like St. Louis, it is effectively a single-party political monopoly from its schools to its police department. Philadelphia has not elected a Republican mayor since 1948. The last Republican to be elected mayor of Detroit was congratulated on his victory by President Eisenhower. Atlanta, a city so corrupt that its public schools are organized as a criminal conspiracy against its children, last had a Republican mayor in the 19th century. Its municipal elections are officially nonpartisan, but the last Republican to run in Atlanta's 13th congressional district did not manage to secure even 30 percent of the vote; Atlanta is effectively a single-party political monopoly from its schools to its police department.

I do wish the violence would stop the burning buildings ...
looting... some being hurt and possibly killed ... and this tragedy from Mr.Grey and others ... they have already shown how many cases where paid off by police abuse... and the sooner they can get the protests done and no more rioting they can start to make the papers to possible charge the police or ambulance drivers for his death ...some calm people started to clean up ...some of the mess caused by the violence rioters ... just again heed the 10 pm notice to go home and off the streets ... I might add I hope once has really calmed down their CVS would consider putting in another store for those who
desperately need it... heard it was kids that took it down ... don't blame those that are not responsible for this... I am sure if there was not so much chaos they would have tried to stop them but in fear of getting hurt themselves... please reconsider building CVS... we have to show compassion in the mist of chaos for hope ...
