Not digging this new age texting

totally get you..lol... sometimes my fingers hurt... I just want to pick up the phone.... hear another person's voice.... but most women I want to talk to .. are very long long distance..

.... that's why I like whatsapp..... you can hear.. a voice message from them..

. I know its not the same... but it is better than texting...... and you can share pictures with each other...
. share your everyday with them...

Ok.. at least that's what I tell them...lol..... WHAT.... its not my fault nobody wants to send me pictures of their city or town.....

While I don't mind posting in forums I absolutely loath the whole texting concept. Life and communication can not be whittled down to only a few characters. I think real communication is much more connected by video chat but that is scary for many folks. Sad because Skype, for one, is free and way beter than a phone voice that has no form..

what kind of communication do you need.?

You know when someone is joking or serious. Happy or in sad & any other emotion .
Now... is just letters on a machine with a screen or any image from one.
It isn't real & can not compare to real.

The more human communication is foisted

yep sometimes the little faces just don't do job..you cannot pick up on inflection and tone or hear their laughter or that big pause which means you may want to reconsider what you just said

It's kind of ironic that you would post this on a dating site forum board.

Doing so is basically texting a bunch of strangers.

Other than that, I can understand the senitment.
Texting when you are dating, or trying to, is like going to a strip club while desiring a "relationship."
It's just a big tease, you know there's more, and potential for a more serious connection, everything is just so close. But ultimately it feels like it's pointless and a waste of time and money because there always seems to be an impersonal wall of separation.

I don't care for texting.

A was in a restaurant recently and 4 people ( in their mid 20's) sat down in a booth close by me. All 4 then started to text away, barely saying a word to each other.

I think they were texting each other. Lol.. there is something wrong with that.

But they did stop to eat..so I guess there is still hope.
