Wow after reading this thread has giving me more of an understanding how people feel and why they feel like that.
Some of the reasons are sad and they have helped me to reflect on how I act.
I have taken these answers into consideration towards the way I portray the way I live.

That's right...it's god's will that some fellows shouldn't believe in his existence.

But...why should he tell to his followers to start or stop making non-follower's mind to believe in him??....especially when he himself can make all to either believe in him or otherwise too.....without any efforts.

I'm referring SOUL as invisible driving power.

The point is that this god gifted minds and souls aren't thinking alike always....those generates different thoughts in different situations for same person too, thought levels are different for different persons,different groups, civilizations & cultures.


Who else can be the creator of this universe? Where from has the universe acquired the energy?

What else can be the motivating power for all the happenings in the universe?

What is time actually? What is it's starting point ( Well...it must have started from some point of...... [What....time??]& will it ever come to an end too?...who will end it....?

Soul...what happens to it after death?

I don't mind if you say...I'm calling GOD to whatever I don't know. It's true....may be GOD is that power!

I don't expect god to help me in return to my faith in it...but it helped....but certainly god is not one who excuses for the sin, who bless for acquiring wealth, who gives success ALWAYS without efforts & devotion.

I see god as the almighty creator & controller of the universe...who provides everyone opportunity for evolution & innovation in his universe.

Don't you wonder any more....may be god is willing to make people find him & establish the proof of his existence...perhaps that's why so many species are wandering through the life cycle since long time....maybe that's why the life span is limited for each living being....may be our life span is the time limit that he has given to us to pass the examination of proving his existence.....why don't you take it as a challenge....? may be that is your life task!!

Without attempting to accept the challenge ,believing that he is unable to prove his own existence is just like monkeying out that the question paper is very hard & all questions were out of the syllabus or that your teacher never taught you those topics....isn't that?

So...pl. mind that it's not mandatory for belief in it to be based on faith....it can be fact based too & it is actually....!! but the point here is that not everyone is capable of understanding & verifying the facts understood & presented by the enlightened people......most people considers those proofs as some mythical stories & simply ignores...as it's out of their mental reach....many compares those with stories of monsters...!!

Religions are too much miss-interpreted & biased....some of those were made for guiding the people on the path of enlightenment but has no longer remained that effective as many selfish people has turned the religions into the group of socially unsecured people....group of cowards.....yes, I'm agreed with your statement that RELIGIOUS FOLLOWERS are believing in god without any proof of his existence....rather I'll modify it as "RELIGIOUS PEOPLE are making people to believe in god ( Even if they themselves don't believe)for earning their lively hoods, for making followers to obey them , for earning fame & for socially securing themselves with other's brain & muscle power & many damn things) .....so please don't mix up religions with god...god has nothing to do with religions.

God don't NEED TO BE created or to appear in any physical form ( to wear a body) to do any thing.......but he can create himself, present & disappear as & when he wish in any material or immaterial form.

Anyways....I strongly believe that even if god really appears in physical form wearing the body .....people won't identify him, won't believe him even if he himself exposes his real identity...rather everyone will laugh at him.....people will ask him to do some tasks which are impossible for humans .....if he agrees to & does so,then only people will believe him...means people wouldn't accept his own physical appearance too as an evidence of his existence until he does some wonders...!!

Wonders he is always doing even without having any physical form...then why do people need him to appear before them to prove his existence..???

but you have, in a nutshell, just defined the entire old and new testament of the bible....lol...

On a different note...i think there are two ways to look at it...
Using the bible as a basis for experiences, or using experiences as a basis for the bible.

I honestly don't believe the Bible is full of contradictions , but I do think the logic that is applied by the one reading it may make it seem that way.

The biggest contradiction I tend to hear is someone saying God is not a loving God, and that he does bad things, so therefore even though he says he's loving, he's a vindictive God and not one I want anything to do with. However, maybe we don't fully grasp what 'true love' actually is yet.

Take the following example,

Child to friend: "My mommy doesn't love me"
Friend to child: "Why do you say that? "
Child to friend: "Well because she let Daddy spank me, and it hurt...if she loved me she wouldn't have let me get hurt."

So can someone actually cause you pain out of love?
If a parent grounds a child, sends them to their room without supper, does that mean that parent no longer loves the child?
they allowed the child to go to bed hungry...well if they loved the child that wouldn't happen right?

If a parent kicks their 23 year old son out of the house so he can learn to be independent, do they no longer love the child?

now say we are that 23 year old son, who got kicked out, we have 2 choices.

1. Figure it out, grow in maturity, and later we'll understand why they did that, and perhaps even thank them for it.

2. Blame every challenge that comes our way in the process of growth on our parents, we are lazy, perhaps get on drugs, steal etc...even though we ourselves our responsible for our actions we blame our parents, and if they only loved us we wouldn't be in this position.

Same exact parents, same act done out of love, 2 completely different responses, one grows and learns, one blames the world(and parents) for everything wrong around him.

If we are God's children, and if this life is really only temporary then 'death' isn't the worse thing that can happen, it's just the worse thing that we currently understand.

What if when we die, we actually go to a 'testing ground' or another dimension where we get another chance to 'learn and grow' what if we get personal challenges customized for each of us.

The thing is we don't know what happens after death, we have no clue, science can't determine if we have a soul or not, we currently see death as a bad thing...what if it's just another chapter in our journey?

Until we know for certain what happens after death, we can make a call on whether death is good or bad when it comes to our souls(if we do indeed have them).

So no I don't think the Bible has contradictions, I think our limited ability to fathom everything in it is what makes it seem that way though.
