Yeah, I feel sad that Obama is leaving office. I have no confidence in Trump, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. I will give Trump a chance.

Did he win.. what?

I am one of the people who " spoke" for a change. Do I think Trump is the best choice.. no. do I think he was a better choice then Clinton.. yes... hands down.

People were tired of the leadership of the last 8 years. And they showed that by voting in a new President with a different view on things. A man who bucked both parties.

Trump becoming President was also a way the American people showed the Government that we are tired of politics as usual.

In reality is was a defeat for both parties.

But, he was our President, one of a very very few and he does deserve the respect that any former President who served deserves. And for what it is worth, I think his wife did a very good job as the 1st lady.

gave free health care to millions who really needed it

There is no such thing as free health care. Someone pays for it.

I am sad that he's leaving.
Stepping down kind of legitimizes his presidency.
I really would have liked to have seen him impeached in his first year of office. Or second. Or any of them, really. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.
IMO he saw himself as an emperor, and he really didn't have on any clothes.

the man that took down the Taliban, took down Bin Laden, brought the troops back home, bailed out the auto industry, the housing industry, gave free health care to millions

With maybe the exception of Bin Laden, none of that is really true.

Obama is maintaining troop deployment in Afghanistan through at least 2017...because of Taliban actions. And although an initial draw down, he has been sending more troops to Iraq, partly due to ISIS.
Not to mention Syria and sending U.S. troops into Europe due to Russia.
Not really "bringing them home."

Bush started the programs for bailing out the auto and housing industry which Obama continued, so maybe partial credit there although the value of doing it can be debated.
You can consider that as you sit in your rented home with lower rent payments, or leased car you chose not to get airconditioning or a stereo (things the CPI formula can consider "luxuries" so take away from car prices to hide inflation).

And the only thing Obama did with healthcare is raise insurance and healthcare prices for everyone else, lowered access to care to those that can afford insurance, and expanded medicaid. At best he transferred (took away) healthcare from the people that had it and could pay for it to give insurance to those that didn't and couldn't. And insurance does not = healthcare.

Little different than what happened in the employment sector.
Get rid of the 1 manufacturing job paying $120,000 with full benefits to create 5 part time waitress jobs paying $18,000 and no benefits although they tell you how to sign up for government assistance. If you could consider that "net creating jobs" then I can see how you can say he "gave healthcare" to people.

I Have a different view of it I guess. In a way, I will be sad to see him go as well, but in another I feel 8 years is more than enough time for any one person to have the job. It is highly demanding and scrutinized and the family(when they stay at the white house) absorbs that constant demand and scrutiny as well.

I believe the Obamas have done a lot of good things for people over their lives and I'm confident that they will continue to. I am happy for them,, that they can have some semblance of BEING a family again.

TOOK DOWN THE TALIBAN? The SOB made them stronger! He helped them establish an Embassy in Qatar and released their top Generals and leaders without Congressional approval violating many laws.

The Taliban and TTP is stronger today then they have been in many years.

Obama didn't kill Bin Laden, the brave men of DEVGRU did. He gave the order, which I give him credit for but I also give credit to the George W. Bush Administration as the intelligence was first gained under the aggressive tactics he authorized on detainees.

That free healthcare had closed many businesses and lowered the quality of healthcare and I have personally suffered because of it and yeah, he bailed out the Auto Industry, great for him since they are moving to Mexico and China!

Lets not forget about decreasing our military to record low size. Emboldening our enemies, pissing off our Allies and making villains out of our police officers who have seen a record number of deaths in the past two years, including a friend of mine who was killed in the line of duty.

Obama had bee a $hit stain on the history of America and I can't wait to see him go.

Not saying I don't respect him. I respect anyone who holds that office, just doesn't mean I like the job they have done.

Michelle hasn't been a great First Lady. There was that disastrous school lunch initiative and her remarks of finally being proud to be an American for the first time in her life and the hate speech she spewed since Trump got elected is beneath the office of the first lady.
