Do you! think people that ride motorbikes are selfish..ok.. before you go off the deep end on me hear me out..

First off it's pretty much a solo activitie. Bit selfish Secondly ..Hells Angels.. are not exactly considered selfless people.. and they all ride bikes...no offense to any Hells Angels out there..lol...but it's true. Guns drugs prostitution.. not exactly benefits to society..ok..Lol.. maybe some is lol..

And .. it' can be very dangerous..
Putting yourself in dangers way..
Is a bit selfish...And they are very loud disturbing neighborhoods.. disrespectful to your neighbors.. another sign of selfishness...
Also riding a bike just screams look at me.. and my need for attention..
More selfish behavior...

..ok Now !I get the the joy of riding a motorbike and the freedom that comes with it... and the rebellious. Spirit..
But..hmmmmm... just all seems a bit selfish.....

T..
ok.. let's not make this about me..ok..
I like bikes

Well, for those who do ride I think they will disagree. Yes, there are those motorcyclist who do some stupid things out there and make a *** of themselves. Mostly the younger ( Crotch Rocket crowd)

I have rode a motorcycle for many years and have met some of the nicest people doing so, fellow riders. They come from every walk of life and just have one thing in common.. riding.

Is owning sports cars selfish?, golfing whenever you can, is selfish? or any other " outlet" that gives you personal pleasure.. is that also selfish?

As for the " look at me" part, I have seen that too and I chuckle at them. but for the vast majority of riders, they really don't care if you look or you don't and they try to ride on road that are less populated so they can be around less cars.. and people and enjoy the ride more.

As for loud, mine is, but I never ( as most other too) make a point of it and always take that into consideration my neighbors... low throttle out.
The reason for the loud pipes?. I had a Harley with quiet pipes years ago, and almost got killed twice.. because the car cut in front of me.. both times.. couldn't see me in their blind spot.. and couldn't hear me. They apologized to high heaven.. when I caught up to them

The bottom line.

It is a lot of fun and it is a great way to met people who share a interest of yours.

And frankly, when you have your lady on the back and you are cruising along the ocean.. there is no other feeling like it in the world.

No, they are not cheap.. on average $20K-25K.. then you have to personalize it to your style.

And most do have good jobs.. from every walk of life

you would like it.. you get to feel the wind in your face.. the different currents of air.. some cool.. some warm.. some hot.. you smell the trees.. the vegetation.. and most of all.. you don't have your cell phone on.. nobody can reach you.. and you just sit back.. and cruise :)

There is noting like it. The feel of the ride is great. People have a misconception about guys who ride motorcycles. The ones who give us all a bad name are called 1%ers.. those are the gangs. but 99% are not affiliated with rouge gangs.

Yes, my Harley is big and it is loud. But I ( and those OI ide with) never bust chops out there.

BYT the loud pipes are so cars can hear you... cause most times they can not see you

I have one now a small 250 Suzuki and put It up for sale as I prefer planes to distant places rather than the open road and feel safer as well

Used to ride a bike. Now drive a Corvette. Much more comfortable, heat, AC, and a top to keep the rain out. Okay, now do a post about how all Corvette drivers are selfish A-holes.

I admire the courage and spirits of bikers. They are adventurous, thrill-seekers and hell-raisers. They don't seem to get afraid to face the dangers of a speed of a two wheeled motor vehicle. I like their guts but I am afraid for my own safety to have the guts to ride on itscared

Some people that ride bikes may be selfish in a different way. Keep an open mind. I have been on bikes a few times and don't like it too much. I'd be very reluctant for my partner to ride a motorcycle because I'd always wonder about his safety. You have to be extra alert. An accident on a bike is so much worse than a car, even if you are a really good rider. My sister used to ride a bike and she was really good. She rode alone or with others, men and women, short distance and long. She took safety riding classes and then taught it too, but still got into an accident when someone tried to pass her on the wrong side even though she was using correct hand signals and bike signals. She was not at fault. SO, if you have a family, men and women, think about that.

[/quote Naw I have 14 cars 7 of which are corvettes so I wont give you any grief? Cars are a great hobby meet fellow enthusiasts, show off a little, and if you know your market quite lucrative too ..

amazing!...I can't think of anything (with respect to behaviour and characteristics) you attributed to bikers that does NOT apply to car drivers...but i may have missed something...
