Whenever i switch on the news, i'm left bewildered, seems to me things get worse with each passing year
Unstable atmosphere
Geological instability
Social instability
Economic instabilty
Constant threat of conflict

Just wondered what everyone else thinks about the current state of the world

maybe the world isn't as bad as the media wants you to think...

I don't see the world as bad.
Step away from the media overload and look at the reality in front of you.
I turned off the idiot box years ago and it was the best thing I could do for my contentment.

I like these shows on RT America ... and believe them ... on their info ... been watching for a long time now ... sure makes u cringe...
when you watch all of their shows they have on RT ... they... thats right they... are trying to get then banned from certain TV stations ... can't imagine why:: always have said believe or not ... your choice ...

I agree with mo, the media needs news, if it's good they'll find the bad ,and then the big corporations that need the world to look bad, Bader the better to make their billions!

It's the modern day religion, a couple of thousand years ago a guy with a beard, no, not bin Laden, that was recently, he preached his view on the state of the world and everyone followed.
Difference being is government and media don't have beards but they make shed loads of cash and have people following them!

We also have more media sources than ever, so you hear about every single thing.

Remember the days when there was an hour of news in the morning on TV, then you had to wait all day to hear what else happened until the news hour in the evening?

Oh yeah, a lot of you don’t.

Sure there were newspapers both am and pm, but no one read it all. It took awhile to warm up our dinosaurs 🦕 to ride to work back then.

The best solution is turn it off and enjoy those you come in contact with and life...

I agree. I never watch the endless news loop on the television anymore.

I like to be informed about major happenings, but get that by reading the top few feeds in my computer.

I agree that the media has way too much power in our society - but then again, who gave them that power? (just a theoretical question) Still I think there's more bad news than bad out there than good - people these days just seem really greedy, rude, entitled and morally bankrupt - I see so many people walking around with their smart phones too grossed to pay attention to the world around them or the person next to them, but that's prob another post.

PS - I rarely watch TV- I think most of what's on TV is junk and the news all over the world seems so depressing- reminds me of when I was in high school during the Vietnam War and would hear them give the body count when I came home from school each day,

Before I killed the boobtube I was a stressed out mess.
Now that I am no longer exposed to a daily dosage of crap,
I find more contentment in life.
"My World", the one I witness, is not bad.
Its pretty good as a matter of fact.

I get enough news from what jumps out at me the second I log onto the internet. I don't go looking for it, unless I feel it's something important that I understand so I can make informed decisions.

I don't know how to measure if these things are 'worse' or not, but I do know they have always been and always been cyclical, maybe the cycles seem to be getting closer together now with things like the atmosphere and conflict, but the others on the list just seem part of the ongoing natural affects of billions of humans trying to share the Earth.

Yep, everything seems to be horribly f**k up lately and my hunch tells me it's just the beginning of a long bumpy ride, to say the least.
I have this gut-feeling that things are going to get much much worse so hold on to your butts!

I think that Mankind is only getting what it deserves, no more no less.

What an exciting time to be alive!
