It's seem a 30 year old man will be all over a woman that a 50 year old man thinks isn't attractive enough.

I guess context , motivation. and intentions are a factor .

If it's just one woman younger than he it isn't a problem. If he isn't attracted to any women in their 40's, he will remain alone. At his age, his sex drive is getting lower and less a woman can do for him.

No, you got that wrong: Less HE can do for a woman when his erm... thang goes down... Which starts to happen with most men over 40. Still comes up, but the umph goes out of it.
Men call that "I finally have control!"
I guess that makes them feel better about it.

I guess either the woman just wasn't it for him or he simply isn't ready for real love.
I know a woman who looks worse than the Grand Canyon, and in this case it is not a joke, she really truly looks 20 yrs older than she is and I don't think I've ever seen a woman with so many (deep) wrinkles and ridges in her face.
Yet, she found great love some 3 years ago, and a good-looking man at that, and he proposed within a year. As far as I know they're still happily married.
Meaning... if a woman really makes a man feel 'it', her face looking old doesn't matter one bit. The same goes for a body by the way. Most women don't have a super-model body, nor do men. Yet they do find love.

So either she didn't make him feel that way or -and I think it is this- he is too picky meaning he isn't ready for true love, too superficial, still controlled by ego stuff etc.

What you can do? Send him to a personal development course, hihi. Or, if he himself is bothered by his single-status, sign him up for one of David Wygant's workshops for men on finding love.

It's kind of depressing when you think about it. I told a friend he should get out and date. He said you don't understand, if I had my choice between a woman and a sandwich, I would choose the sandwich. He is 5 days younger than I am.

You don't need to sleep with most men, you just gotta talk to a lot of women tongue2 And read a lot. Like for instance on anatomy or Kegels.
I think it's to do with people sitting on their rear end too much these days for work. That doesn't do the PC muscle any good and that will have an effect on a man's performance ability. Quite logical this gets worse when a man gets older as everything will loose it's umph when you get older.
Not unlike men saying women's boobs begin to sag, and conveniently forgetting that a man's boobs do the exact same thing -even when they don't have moobs.

I have a single brother who is 51... quite handsome and athletic . However I worry he will remain single again forever .., he told me he met a woman last week who had a body to die for but her face looked old .. she was 40... He said the date went well and they seemed to get along .. but he was just not attracted enough .. , I gave him a sisterly slap and told him to get real !!!!

Is it unrealistic to want the total package .,,

i understand preferences and not wanting to settle ., but being realistic also has its benefits .

Im single too bigsmile
ok .. but you have to endure a double date with me laugh laugh waving

I would happily endure it bigsmile wavingflowerforyou i bet that date wouldn’t have any boring moment flowers
I think there would definitely be a lot of giggling smooched waving

Jaysis, are you setting up your brother with SS? rofl
would that be so bad lars

It might be good for one, it might be bad for the other
am I supposed to guess which one ., laughing .. sceptical is gorgeous and sweet .. my brother is delicious

I don't know your brother, am not into fancying guys anyway. But Sceptical is ... ah well ... the words to describe her, were not invented yet
then I do not understand your statement ... it might be bad for one ...you forgot a third option. .. it might be good for both tongue2

Let's put it this way, there is always winners and losers, in all aspects of life. But I don't wanna go into detail for personal reasons.
are you trying to tell me that you are the winner .. that you already have scepticsls heart biggrin

Dunno. Only she has the answer

I could flippantly comment on this whenever I have time to (and have once).

It sounds like your brother has done his due diligence. It's (as I have read) a reoccurring theme (of both sexes) not to "settle". Perhaps men ARE more superficial when it comes to this subject....but he has done the work?.......at least in one aspect of what women desire.

Despite all the caveats of emotional attraction and content of character....does he not "deserve" to be "picky"? (an often heard female mantra)
sure beach ...he is allowed to be picky but as his sister .. I am a little disappointed in his comment .

Yes, it's perhaps a shallow thing to say "outloud" but to be brutally honest (and maybe equally as shallowlaugh) I see "people" 10 or more years my Sr. who have consistently taken care of themselves who are incredibly attractive. I have also seen people 10 or more my Jr. who may have recently gotten into shape but are haggered by hard living in their early years. At my age personality and je nais se quoi goes a long way, but attraction is attraction and hard to quantify.

blondey you know him better but i know sometimes my simple short answers come off like that cuz i think those that know me well will automatically get all the extra subtext.

I think you are wrong crystal ..divorce can make some people bitter and they look for ways to put down the opposite sex . The trend I have seen is that a lot of men over 40 are looking after themselves ., very fit and athletic ..it is understandable they seek similar in a partner . Perhaps you are meeting the wrong calibre of men if you are finding their sexual performance is lacking biggrin tongue2

I have never thought physical attraction was shallow . Anything which ignites passion is powerful biggrin
