Just Hours after Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet calling Obama administration adviser Valerie Jarrett a cross between a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes, ABC immediately canceled the comedian’s show.

In the statement announcing the show’s cancellation, president of ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey said, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

Before the cancellation anouncement,Comedian Wanda Sykes, a consulting producer on the series, exited the show earlier in the day after Barr’s racist tweet.

Roseanne tried to apologize, but it came too late to save her,and her show.

Roseanne cancelled her twitter account, soon after the news of her cancellation was made public.

Personally,i feel that ABC did the appropriate thing in immediately canceling the show, and hope that this sets a new standard for racist comments and behavior such as this.

My gut is this just gave them a more public reason, but that the show was having other internal and behind the scenes problems leading to this. ...

That's too bad the show got cancelled, however, I don't think the new show was as good as the first one. She should retire now and Dan looked old.

I really liked the first one when children were Young!

No one should post a racist tweet. Especially any TV network actor.

I think it was a mistake to cancel it. I don't see the big deal about her comment. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? I would have continued to watch the show.

Without writers or actors, there is no show. They were losing theirs ... so it made sense to get ahead of it and cancel. I think better shows have been canceled for less.

Humm so this is what she tweeted that they Canceled the show over?

"Roseanne Barr posted a racist tweet calling Obama administration adviser Valerie Jarrett a cross between a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes."

Humm so how are some taking this I'm on the fence for she is talking about the way she handles things is the way I took it...

This is what I found the meaning of Muslim Brother Hood is~~ The ideology of the MB is mainly focused on reform of existing political systems in the Arab world. It embraces the idea of political activism and social responsibility, organising charitable works and social support programmes as part of its outreach to its core support base of lower-income populations.

The members of the MB represent a broad spectrum of interpretations of the initial ideology of Hassan al-Banna. Many members embrace a more pragmatic idea of achieving their goals, urging political participation and cooperation.

As far as comparing her to the Planet of the Apes I will admit that was a bit much...

But really enough to Cancel a Show that seems to be going?? Something else is going on here... could be wrong..

But I would not doubt if someone else picks up the show..

Heck I heard many talk about Michelle Obama around those same type of names and they did not shut down shows over it..

Yes that is wrong to refer her looks to those in Planet of the Apes but still can not see the reasoning of totally cancelling a show over it..

yeah, like I was saying, its most likely difficulty working with her in general, and behind the scenes complaints leading up to this point ... with that tweet being a final straw for a major actor and a major writer on the show, both of whom quit shortly after.

Yea.. I agree with you on this one there was more to it then this I'm sure she can be a hand full to work with.. and that was just the final straw for some of them...

I m surprised. They aren't talking about that on the "Talk" yet!

The woman that plays Dorlene is a regular on there. And when the new show was coming back the other s on there congratulated her over and over.

I t is a sore Subject now. But maybe I missed. The "Talk" on that day.

They talk about Stars, gossip, and everything in News and Hollywood.

oh,not THIS same stupid argument again!! '~' frustrated

we STILL have freedom of speech!!!!

she was free to say whatever she wanted to,without government inteferference!!

BUT,'freedom of speech' doesnt mean 'freedom from the consequences of what you freely say'!!

cuz,remember.....like i am sure that you have heard on every police show you have ever watched...ANYTHING you say can be used against you!!!

and,she just had to pay the price for the things that she said!!

[welcome to reality!!]

she supported trump on the show from day one...she's been supporting trump in real life as well... The liberal Hollywood just found an excuse, that's all...

On the news they put up a pic of the woman and a pic of planet of the apes. The woman had similar features. I don't get what the big deal is.

I think she kind of looks like Roseanne. So that probably wasnt a big deal but the last straw in a line of other things that have probably gone on to cause others to quit the show.

The race card is over used. The woman does have the same features as the characters from planet of the apes. It's a kindergarten comment. The news media is fueling a race war. Roseanne is old and very rich. Canceling the show doesn't help minorities.

You don’t see the big deal about her comment because you’re white. There’s only one thing worse than a racist and that’s those who ignore it, or as in your case, condone it.
