When online, it is infatuation, not love.
The love happens after two people meet face to face.

I think the chances are good if you look locally. I met my latest bf by joining a local dating site.
I think stay within your own country, less visa hassles and less chance of being played

Good point. But if a person is fairly serious and be themselves then you learn their personality.

For the most part, I agree.

Although sometimes you just think you know them and later find out they were just playing you. That they didn't think you'd ever really meet, so could be sweet as pie and get all kinds of attention from you. You remain oblivious to this until you say "I'm coming to visit" and suddenly they become a ghost. slaphead

Or.... you meet and fall head over heels in love... and live happily ever after biggrin

Or... you meet and remain really good friends happy

Welcome to the asylum known as mingle.

Imo i would say it is more of lust from online. Takes a while to get to know someone. And as pointed out earlier if you're not in the same town than most likely you'll never meet in person.

Good luck to you.

many people fall in love online, mind you most people fall in love with the idea of falling in love and has unrealistic expectation.

I was on another forum a while back and this woman claimed to be in love with this guy they've had an online relationship for a year and they haven't met in person.

so you tell me?

what are the odds of falling in love with someone online?

Better than if you never leave your house.

Worse than if you are constantly exploring and/or interacting on different levels within your community and exploring new hobbies with new people week to week or month to month, because you aren't solely focused on realizing some idealized relationship goal.

Where is the line between infatuation and Love David? I mean how are the feelings different ? There has to be something right? slaphead if you’re infatuated only does it mean it hurts less when things go wrong? think
