Lord have mercy. Another 20 shot, 1 dead.

The 15-year-old was grazed in the head, and the 17-year-old was shot in the abdomen. They took themselves to Mount Sinai Hospital where they were both in good condition.
"Chicago is a scary place to be," Hines said. "Even I'm scared to walk to the corner store."
The boys were among 20 people shot Friday and early Saturday, one of them fatally. Three other juveniles were wounded in attacks in the city, including a 12-year-old girl.

It's amazing that no camera are catching who these criminals are. Looks like we need to start building more prisons.

So sad while I was in Punta Cana I had read where they had just had a big shooting where 40 had been shot due to gang stuff with a lot of innocent bystanders being shot... That is just crazy..

This is truly a tragedy (and has been) of unfounded proportions.

I am somewhat at a loss for words .
I can give you a list as to what lead up and created this present environment, but I struggle to come up with solutions to this very wicked problem regarding the fragility and value of human life.

Especially when children are being harmed and killed.
Something must be done because if this behaviour isn't eradicated it will spill over and spread .

Intense radical problems require intense radical solutions.

It is clear.. crystal clear that this will not stop until it is forced to stop.

These animals could care less that they are shooting little kids.. they could care.. less.

They certainly need much more cameras in Chicago. They know the hot spots. those areas should flooded with cameras.

And at the very least they more cops on the street, if not the Chicago cops, then state cops, if not state cops then national guard.

Somebody has to protect these kids and the elderly there. They good people can not live in constant fear for their life.

Why would they care about who they shoot they don't even care about themselves once they hit those gangs their sense of life goes out the door.. it is sad that kids have to join gangs to survive...

I know.. and I agree

But call me hard.. call me cruel.. but I really don't care about the gangbangers. I really don't care what brought them to that point. I care about those kids who are being shot. At this point the cease pool of gang bangers needs to be cleared out of there. And make a example out of them for others to see.

when you point that gun at a kid.. a child.. the gloves come off.

Mothers telling their kids not to go by the windows, afraid a stray will come thru ( which it has, many times) elderly afraid to go outside.. wild shoot outs are a daily occurrence... unacceptable

Ohhh don't get me wrong, I totally agree but until they do something and get in those neighborhoods and clean them up and they have protection to where they feel safe again it will continue...

Many have no way to rise above the gangs in their area so they join the gangs cause that is all they know...

Myself sorry I'm all for the Military to be able to step in and clean up the area from all the gangs, so they all can live without the fear of gangs shooting up the area night after night... Matter of fact all those in the gangs should be put on clean up detail every day as part of their punishment.. I don't want to see them sitting in jail I would rather see them cleaning up the mess they created... with jail being their only place after a hard days work..

True.
It is way past time to send in The National Guard .
Send them in and instill and maintain law and order indefinitely.

I would not say this unless I absolutely think it is the proper course to take.

We are dealing with unbridled insanity.
Radical measures must be taken at this juncture or more senseless deaths will continue to occur day after day.
It truly is a crying shame for any part of this country to come to this .

I think that is a good idea. Problem is liberals will cry it's a misuse of labor. It already happened here because some prisoners working in the kitchen to feed themselves.

It is time. you are right

We have the national guard at airports, train station, bus terminals to protect us from terrorists.

what is the difference between foreign terrorists and what is happening in Chicago?.. Is not gangbangers.. terrorists?

the end result is people being murdered.. innocent people and the national gaurd should be used to combat that.

I hate even going near a big city. I've been to Chicago. I got in, did my business and got out asap.
Its insanity.
Yes, gangs exist in smaller cities but they have less insanity.
Why anyone would want to live in such a crazy place is beyond me?
I won't even go to NOLA for Mardi Gras anymore.
Some people think its exciting but I value my life.

What's the difference between ISIS moving into a neighborhood and terrorizing people vs this?

Wipe em out, shoot to kill and start working on gang rappers, their videos depict nothing but violence, they glorify that way of life.

So help me god, if I ever lose a loved one to a senseless murder like that, i'd dexter their azzes forever!

Tx Gal is right.. you ruined it the neighborhood.. you fix it.

One of my sons got into a fight at school when he was 16.. nothing big.. but the " town elders" committee gave him 3 days of community service.. picking up trash on the street.

I beeped as I went by. embarrassing to him to do that... yep

but

you do it.. you pay the price for doing it..

I absolutely positively agree.. what is the difference?.. there is none. If it was I.S.I.S. the cops, national guard and everyone else would be going door to door to hunt them down.

what is the difference.. a terrorist is a terrorist.

Some may say they don't want the NG doing that.. that it becomes a military state.. then tell me what is the NG for if not to protect and defend their citizens?

I hear you Tom.

I don't know but here in NYC area we certainly have crime I have seen on many occasions things happen and it seems out of nowhere there are cops all over the place..in minutes. I have no idea where they come from. uniformed, but especially undercover. They are all around and there are cameras.. everywhere.

A few months ago I was in the city when some terrorist almost blew himself up with a bomb ( which he intended to set off at Grand Central station.

In a matter of minute there was helicopters, cops, state troopers, FBI, CIA and countless black SUV's with tinted windows. ( nobody really know who they are)

My point being, NYC has invested in technology and manpower to stem the problem.. Maybe other cities have to do a better job at it. Why can't that system be used to combat the thugs in Chicago and other areas.

And since the last publication of 20 shot, 1 killed on Saturday (covering Friday night and Saturday morning).. another 10 have been shot.. and the day is far from over.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least 10 people were wounded in city shootings on Saturday and early Sunday, Chicago police said.

30 shot, 1 killed.. and the weekend isn't over yet.

I think you are fortunate to live in a protective city community.
I grew up in the country setting, miles from my nearest neighbors.
I tried living in the big cities, certainly not for me.

The way I see it, the fact that such measures need to be implemented in the first place is disturbing. Its the potential for mayhem in high population areas that makes me wary of the world's population explosion.
More people in less area means more mayhem and more 'protection' needed while living.
Those extreme protection measures are not needed in sparsely populated areas.
People tend to be more laid back in life.
When I have to go to NOLA, the insanity of the place is overwhelming to me. I can't get out of there fast enough.

People in the cities exist in a higher stress constant than those who do not live in big cities.
High stress is not good for you at all.
Residents in these high stress areas might tell you they are not stressed but anyone that lives in a low stress area can see it as plain as day.

With those high levels of stress so common, people snap easily.
Gangs are more extreme in their activities because with higher stress levels it takes higher extremes to satisfy their excitement.

9-11 changed NYC...for sure. and city life is a lot different then other life.. I know a lot of people who " can't take" the hustle and bustle of the city.. the sounds.. the amount of people.. even the smells. Its not for everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. If I was not used to it I would find it intimidating too.

Regarding stress in gangs. I have no pity for their stress and I have no pity for them. I now that may sound callous but I really don't care about what kind of life they have. Nobody forces them to leave the house with a gun under their shirt. And I find it extremely hard to believe they don't know what they are doing is wrong from a legal and from a moral standpoint.. from any standpoint. For the most part they are not kids, they are adults.

Who I do have pity for is the innocent victims. That's it.

Do we as a society show pity towards I.S.I.S.? But because these terrorists were raised here we should show pity to them?... try to understand them?... why?

Society can not be blamed for life choices. Society can not be blamed for family structure breakdowns. And certainly society cannot be blamed for pulling the trigger.
