I get some people that say they will be in my town soon to meet up if i want. Just today, a guy said, I'm going to be at this hotel tomorrow and can we meet for coffee. I know the hotel and you can see it on the internet. I said, "No thanks. I'm doing the social distance thing." He said, "oh, you're one of THOSE people."

I'm thinking of safety and others don't care.

Studies are showing, that outdoor fresh air,
is alot safer than indoor air.

I'm kinda antisocial, and have been
socially distancing, since way before
the Chinese flu made it the cool thing
to do.

You needn't succumb to pressure to step outside
of your comfort zone. Be where you feel safest.

I am surprised that there is a hotel in the middle of nowhere.

(Just kidding)

It's entirely your choice and you don't have to do anything that you don't want to .

Think about what??? Your question isn't clear?
The fact he said your one of those people?
Or...
Would we go or not?

I would go if I'd talked to the man for a bit and had a real interest. Not when some dude lets me know he's in town and shall we meet up.
You can meet and still keep your distance. That's the whole idea. And many places have proper ventilation so it isn't a problem to be indoors either.
So I don't see the problem, provided I had talked to him and liked him.

If it's the other... I get the "those people". Some people now lock themselves up. But I always get the impression you don't really go anywhere or do fun things anyway so who cares.
Accept what you're like.

Giving a nod to social distancing, etc., a friend called this year "The Year of No Fun Allowed".

That's a kind of sad approach to life...
You can always have fun and make it a good year. I guess some people never have a fun year.
I've been focusing on my health a lot this year. That has had my focus so far, and still does.
But I've also had fun.

No way should you meet a stranger at a hotel!

Anyone who tries to put someone else in a negative label box of β€œβ€˜those’ people,” needs to be put in a padded room, because you don’t know what they are going through.

I'm glad you said no, cat. Just him saying, "oh, you're one of THOSE people" would be enough to cause me to turn the other way. He sounds judgemental and controlling. Those kind of statements are often used by someone who uses intimidation to get what they want, or to put themselves above others. That, and his mentioning the hotel. Why not just say, "I'm going to be in town"?

Keep being you and follow your instincts. flowerforyou

Luckily my friend wasn't entirely serious when saying "no fun allowed" but still taking the virus itself seriously.
