Most of mine I met at Work. Since I worked at a Amusement Park (12yrs), I got to meet a LOT of Females.

But my Last "Girlfriend" I met at a bar and she ended up cheating on me. Then was Surprised when I dumped her ###, then she chased me out of the driveway trying to get into my car, telling me how sorry she was.. that was 25yrs ago.

As far as meeting at "Church" them females are too much trouble and only looking to Rebel and the ones I met, Were Mentally Unstable.

In comparison with meeting people through the internet, here in the UK. There used to be clubs for people wanting Pen Pals or to meet others for romance, they were not free to join, the club would produce a monthly magazine sent out to all members containing profiles provided by its members. Each member had a reference number, and contact was made by correspondence through the club to maintain members privacy, for as long as the member required it. They were very much the pre internet penpal/dating sites, and some clubs had worldwide membership, they have all disappeared giving way to the Dating Websites with the arrival of the internet.

You met on a small scale in your own direct area.
People in your street or fellow members of a club, or colleagues at work.
That still happens today.
But there was no talking to people from other countries on the other side of the world.

The "internet" has always been.
