suited for a modeling career.

Haven't looked at the picture yet but I'd rather have a down syndrome model than the Lizzo type "models" they are trying to push down our throats to accept.

Reminds me of the Bud Lite boondoggle, I’ll bet that if their ad campaign had been aimed at the Down’s syndrome or the Autism community ,they would still be the #1 selling beer. I know I’d still be drinking them.

Happy for her, but let's be honest, it's only because she happens to have a normal figure, not the typical Synd. Down's one.
And she basically gets used now as VS make such a big deal out of it, making out to believe they give a chit about such people while they likely only care about the money this makes them. Good marketing, good for their image.

Must say it's good that people that are different from average for various reasons become more accepted, but all this political correctness got up my nose long time ago.
These days it's very prevalent in US series & movies and it's wearing thin.

As for plus size models, or downright huge ones like the aforementioned Lizzo's... I really don't like outfits being modelled by them.
Most of these plus size women have huge thighs which I don't have. I often need plus size because of my height.
Clothes draped on big women don't give me a good impression of what it'd look like on me whereas an average/default modelling body does.

So as far as big women being accepted as 'okay', fair enough. But it doesn't help me in the slightest when clothes shopping. They're two different things: acceptance of (seriously) overweight people and modelling.

Like Himie , everything goes up his nose. ( the older people here will relate to that)….I for one am glad to see they are getting a little lime light. For many years we were ashamed of and hid away what we called retarded people. Now that we understand more about their disabilities we have learned some of these people can and will be an asset for America. Elon Musk has Autisim and look at what he’s done for this country.

Crystal, how many years have we posted together now?

You, and I, share many of the same views when
it comes to political correctness, and "wokeness".
But, can you name a single, solitary model, who
wasn't "used"? I can't think of even one.

Remember Twiggy, from the 1970s?
Built like a concentration camp survivor.

Lizzo? I didn't know she had ever been a model.
What little I do know about Lizzo, is that she
puts on a rather disgusting stage performance.
Currently, she's being sued by some of her
"dancers", for forcing them to eat bananas from
the vajayjays of prostitutes. But, that's a
different topic altogether.

Girl, you and I also share that height issue.
I feel for ya. I have to shop in the big and tall
section...

But, this, putting a down syndrome woman in
Victoria Secret? It's just awesome in my book.

Bud Light aside. A female down syndrome model,
sure beats the Hell outta Tampax hiring a man
in drag (Dylan Mulvaney) to advertise tampons.

I don't buy and never have bought at VC. So I could give a horses patootie about who they use as models.

I tend to think the same as you about VS.
She is beautiful and if she’s capable of making that modelling decision herself then good luck to her.
But I can’t help think it’s VS advertising people jumping on the inclusive bandwagon.
They have factories in Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and China.
Ethical my backside

I wonder if VS would choose a typical down syndrome girl instead of her. But good for her, she is gorgeous. I hope she isn't being exploited by the brand.

VS has a history of controversies, including mistreatment of staff, misogyny, links to Epstein etc.

Since when does a business or corporation have to make it their responsibility to make sure every employee that works for them feels good about their job. And why should a business market a model to boost her popularity instead of putting their #1 responsibility first. Making money! If the employee feels like they aren’t treated fairly than quit, unless this business is operating outside the law, they have no responsibility for the inner feelings of their employees.
