Yes, I am crushing Laura. The weight of happiness is unendurable, and it is crushing us together....but, since I'm on top, I'm doing the crushing.

(((Pec))) I don't agree.. Love is nice, it feels great.. But I am who I am without the love of a partner, I have my success it still feels good.. I am content and pretty happy without love.. Were I to find it, really find it, that would be great but I don't count on it nor place my self-worth on being in love... Now the love of my sons, I couldn't live without... I know you didn't say all that, I just got on a roll.. bigsmile

When your Great True Love comes home to your heart, contentment and happiness with today's life will remain a steady anchor for self-knowledge--a certainty that provides more strength to love totally and with assurance. Then, having lit your own bonfire of love, and daring to fan its flames higher and higher, I pray that your mate will be of such mature character and faith in togetherness that all the bliss mortally possible comes true.
Not that you would ever say, "Without love, I have nothing."
Just that having poured all of yourself into that love, nothing of you remains outside of it...so that you have nothing left to give.

I know that you didn't say all that, I just got on a roll. bigsmile

Am I gorgeous?
I do not recall.
I knew only that the beauty of life waned away.
The calling of my imagination to race to mortality's end
had gained my attention, even to prepare welcome.
Am I gorgeous?
I was not gorgeous, back then.
The sunshine of my disposition was shallow warmth,
giving out smiles and twinkling laughter freely.
But I was not gorgeous.
Yet, somewhere, from deep within,
upwelled a spirit of Truth and Right,
to howl forth in an outburst of clarity,
proclaiming the rightness which all should live in love,
whose brilliance overshone the sunlight with radiant life.
It was not me...but within me, and through me, it sang.
It sang out and caught the eye of a wandering heart,
snatching her soul's vision with breathtaking speed.
The right place was found, and she recognized that it could be,
and she investigated and discovered...hidden me.
Upon being discovered, that life within me blossomed.
Loneliness scrambled away.
The life that was mine alone departed,
vanishing like a mist in a whirlwind.
Am I gorgeous...now?
To her, who made love take root and to bloom,
I am gorgeous...for her alone.
Together, we are gorgeous.
As it should be.

Love the one you're with.
Let no doubt creep in.
Take every thought hostage.
Believe in one another.
Trust, always.
Forgive all wrongs, imagined or real...
...in advance!
Be whom you wish to see in the world.
Foibles of human affairs ought not have power
over the greatness of love,
nor on its ability to heal,
and to cleanse from all bitterness.
The clouds of life do not cover the sun,
but merely obscure our viewpoint of it;
the sun within us can--and does--outshine the darkness,
except as we let darkness dwell within ourselves.

Is it harder for you to forgive yourself or others??

Are you too hard on yourself when it comes to stuff like that??

A. Yes.
B. No, because I have to push myself to try to be better, because laxity is not a virtue.

My gripe is that the weather is getting too warm. Freaks me out. Half of the roads are clear of snow!!
Not bad, you think? It is beyond bad. When the roads were covered with snow and ice, the people drove like they had brains. Oh, but now they can see the little bits of white lines that weren't chewed up by tire chains and studs. So now, after driving 55-65 mph for months on snow and ice, they slow WAY down, as if the stupid lines makes it illegal to drive with half of a brain. Just follow the ruts in the pavement, for Pete's sake!
Oh, and add little economy cars to the list. The ruts that were filled by ice are a factor. Ruts--as far apart as truck and pickup tires, because that's what sensible folks drive in Alaska. Now, the zipping zumwits in their teeny front-wheel drives careen down the highway at 75 mph...until they DO find a place with ice and snow hidden in the shade of a tree, an overpass, or just because it's there. What happens when the slide goes sideways into dry pavement? Catastrophe! Not like when the idjits just slid into deep snow and got out alive.
I want the snow and ice back!!
I want people to never see the pavement, so that they are paying attention, and sudden changes in speed or direction are guaranteed to end up spinning away into the shoulder-deep snow.

DT is certainly the only person with whom I've felt mutual interest when discussing the merits of capitalizing on investing in surplus funeral urns prior to national/international economic catastrophes. Such pragmatism is often obscured in others due to moralistic horrification at profiting from such an "undertaking."

I never used to believe until I found mine. What I'm trying to understand is if I get a second chance after mine died. I know Canadian Geese choose just one mate for life and if that one dies, they're apt to die right along side them.

I know the feeling. My gal gooses me. smitten

Playing dominoes at a gospel mission, with strangers. I was lousy at it, and the best player decided to teach me. From there, we went on to become good friends, and we remain good friends.
