That's wonderful, River! So happy for you! I'm missing my daughters lately too.

I'm old school, and I think it's more chivalrous for the guy to travel to meet the girl first, or to meet at a neutral place.

When Mark and I first met, he wanted to come here to see me, but the country I'm living in had closed borders due to Covid. So he actually bought me a flight to the U.S. to visit him.

Now we take turns visiting each other. This past Christmas we met in a third country (Germany).

I don't think one partner should do all the traveling, or pay for all the flights. I also don't think that people should even entertain the thought of a LDR unless your eyes are wide open to all that entails. It's definitely not easy. But it can be worth it.
