Well it looks like we may not dodge this bullet here at Myrtle Beach. Right now the hurricane is set to slam into Myrtle Beach at 8am Saturday. I live in a resort that is located on the ocean front so I know I'll be evacuating. I hang out at a sports bar so I'll be going there with a sleeping bag. If the power goes out we have a generator to run the beer cooler. We have food in the kitchen and if we can't cook we have Dorito's. We can play pool and use the dartboard machine although we have to keep score manually. None of us evacuate the beach because we can't get back in. We do not attempt to return to our homes because authorities are clearing debry and restoring power but we will be close enough when they give the all clear and unfortunatly everyone that did eveacuate will spend many hours sitting in traffic trying to get home. Having said all of that I plan to jump on here and let all my friends know I am alive and kickin as soon as I have power. Best case is that this thing misses us all together. Worst case....we run out of gas for the generator and have to drink warm beer. I'll be in touch

Here in Daytona Beach, we are likely going to get the outer bands of it. I think it will be a Cat 1 storm by that time (which is Thursday). Yay! First Fay dumps rain all on us, now this. I love Hurricanes.frustrated laugh

Hanna is fast-moving storm, it must be an awfully big storm, as well. I live in CT, and I can't remember ever having a "Tropical Storm Wind Warning" this far inland (I'm about an hour from the shore), but we have a (currently) 12-hour one through the night tonight. I got an e-mail from someone in Brattleboro, VT (about 100 mi. north of here) this morning, saying they were feeling the effects of Hanna up there in VT about the time it made landfall in the Carolinas.
