I was reminded of something I heard a long time ago. It was actually said by a comedian, don't remember his name, but it came back to memory. "What if all those people you see on the streets talking to themselves are just reluctant prophets?" It got me thinking, and as this place is filled with people who have seemed to studied a lot of religion and even those of different types, I wanted to see some opinions along these lines.

Why aren't there any more prophets?

Do we just not listen anymore, or did God stop speaking directly to us?

I think people have grown so cynical and distrustful that they've stopped listening. When/if the Messiah comes, who will know and/or who would believe?

It's true, we've got info overload. That makes it a lot harder to filter out the cr@p.

With modern society, if the Messiah does return, we'll probably just TiVo the event.

There are still prophets. It's just hard to tell who to believe anymore.

Course, the Bible does give guidelines to that...

Ah yes, but the bible also gives warning to watch for "false prophets" who will preach falsely of the word. It's kind of a nice catch they put in so we wouldn't look for "new" prophets and put all of our faith in just the old ones. A Catch 22 if you will.

The bible gives you guidelines for your life. Just as what I believe in gives me guidelines for mine. They might not be the same and then again they might be the same. I might believe in just part of what you do or I may not beleive in any.

I have no doubt thier have been prophets since Yahshua and the Apostles death.

I would say thier was with constantines edict of state religion believe or die.

Many died as they were warning the people.

In recent history we are getting closer to Yahshua's return.

He speaks 1st about all the false prophets that will arise and to not follow or believe them.

Thier have been many and many on the scene now claiming they are speaking for the creator.

Thier prophecies do not come true and then they say well I made a mistake I calculated wrong.

The creator has spoken to you to say this and you made a mistake? No you are saying the creator made a mistake. another lie.

I know of one who has been on the radio all over the world saying that many cities would be destroyed by nuclear bombs and the u s would cease to exist by july 16th i believe of this year.

The radio guy says what if it does not happen.

He says it will happen. If it does not I will PROMICE your readers I will declare myself a false prophet and never speak again.

Well he did not declare himself a false prphet he just moved the date up and i believe it should of happened by now. still his flock stays with his.

We are warned of this and told it must happen that people will rise up claiming themselves great teachers.

This is for those of Yahweh's benefit as it is a learning tool. to see what is happening and to learn what is going on.

You will see true prophets and what they say will come true.

The world will dispise the True prophets as they always have. Claiming they are evil.

Moses said a great prophet would rise up among the people. he was speaking of Yahshua the son of Yahweh as this Great Prophet.

We can see how with all he did never hurting anyone the Elite in religion had him killed.

The false prophets always get a free pass because the Elite religious leaders know they have nothing to fear from this one.. Blessings...Miles

I think we realize now that no one speaks for God, and God doesn't speak to anyone with the intention of using them as a loudspeaker.

Hey, if God can speak to someone why not just speak to the person of interest directly?

Why would God use intermediaries?

When God wants to talk to me she speaks directly to me.

Whats the difference between a Prophet and a Medium/Clairvoyant?

alot... not popular to common belief when we die it is like sleep.. you do not communicate with the dead.

Thats spirits that speak and not good ones in that way.

Clairvoyant.. do you mean they can see things through walls or a long way away?

So how come u know this? can u prove it?

And by Clairvoyant, i mean 'Clear seeing', meaning they can see spirit and communicate with them.

To look thru walls would be Psychic, not Clairvoyant.

Or a lunatic for that matter.

A prophet speaks to "God".
A Medium speaks to spirits.

So it really depends on your definiton of god, I guess.

I do not believe it at all. But then i am refering to what the bible say and I believe it to be true. Alot of bible believers believe you can talk to the dead. That is not backed up thier though.

So being Clairvoyant has no proof what they are speaking to or who. dangerous if you ask me.

Psychic is a much more real thing that could be related to a prophet.

looking through walls or anywhere else. I have personal experience and it is recorded what i said i was seeing in Hilla iraq . It was like i was watching it and was thier. i could almost feel the pain and the screams i heard and the planes and artillery.

I was in a chat romm when this happened at 9;30 am in the morning in Feb 2007. I started relaying everything i was seeing even typing way faster than my usual one finger peck.

Then it quit and we noted the time and i am sure they have chat logs of it. it was 9:32am ct i remember everyone in the chat room noted and turned on watching news channels.

at 9:45 am cnn came on with breaking news of a reporter who said and looked scared. he said he doid not know what was going on as this was the 1st time in the war a news blackout had been ordered.

He said he was hearing gunship and something very serious was going on but they would not let him leave his hotel or relate anything that was going on.

We all saw this about 4 that was in the room i do not know if more was or not.

The news made it a non event. nothing was said about it untill late evening news that I know of and they said 2 suicide bombers had blown themselves up at a market at Hilla Iraq 50 miles s of bagdad.

it was like it was nothing.

that same reporter reported the next day that it happened down thier. He said this was so strange because the military has it blocked off to all media and civilians. All the closer anyone could get was 2 miles away.

still the media made it a non event. rueters who alot of stories come from said 175+ were dead 200+ injured making it the 2nd worst massecure in the war.

news over here said maybe 40 or 50 dead and said no more.

They acted like it was no big thing.

I also said as I was describing women and children running on fire that thei was us doing this. the USA.. That we were lying this was a big lie. I could see soldiers of ours using artilleries loading and shooting.

This still shows up as if it was no big deal.

What i saw and the news coverage it got and what i said during this.
Fits way better than anything we were told.

This does not happen when i want as it has happened many times and i describe it to people in detail before any news is ever said.

But I know this sort of stuff happens. I have no control when.

I have seen future events and wrote them down but i do not know how to understand when and where this is taking place. I may for some reason have an idea but not really much use.

case in point I had a vision but i was looking out. I saw thousands of people floating in the water and said this was chr-stmas time. 6+ months before the psunami. I could not tell where it was and i did not understand what it meant. Afterwards i understood what it meant but still not where it was except tropical as i saw a beach and very blue water.
