Like it or not, our laws are based on the ten commandments. Also, people
seem to forget that this country was founded on christian morals and
beliefs.

Gryph, I think I'm finally with you. arghuu, I feel so stupit. I was
trying so hard I failed to see the simple. I know full well that
anytime there is a change in the actual law that it may have effects and
costs in the future. I have had this very debate often with many of my
friends and acquaintances over the last few years, and we all want the
same thing. I would argue constantly, that we needed to view the whole
picture. That we had to be careful what we tried to enact and exactly
what the far-reaching affects would be. To most of them it was cut and
dry, just change it. Then I would point out the possible pit falls of
not taking time to view all the possiblities, current and future.

Over the years, the HRC has done a pretty good job of seeing the same
problems that I have presented. This biggest problem we now face, those
who want to change the law, is that some, who fear that in accepting
this change our government would be taking away the value of the
christian family, because in thier view, according to the Bible,
marriage, even the work as used and for the purpose it's used, in our
law means between one man and one woman. So these poeple have pushed
the issue so hard that we have been backed into a corner. There was a
recent Senate Jount Resolution 7, Indiana, that proposed to write
discriminaton into the founding document of Indiana, but what made it
such a manipuation, was the language that said if passed, this would be
permanently writen and could not be changed or revisited. What
choice did we have but to have an all out fight to stop this from
passing, making it even more imperitive to get the Federal law changed
as quickly as possible to prevent other states from adopting this
manipulative method of upholding discrimination.

So now, I fear, once again that we are foced to move too quickly, that
there will be things overlooked, but when backed into a corner and told
you can never get out once the door is shut, you run like hell.

Sorry if my passion over this topic blinded me from seeing,
understaing your view for so long. We actually are in agreement more
than either of us thought. I just hope my side of the conversation has
become clearer to you also.

Please don't bite my head off for this...

Founded on christian morals.

buy 1000's of square acres for a few beads?

Kill anything that stops you from seizing what you want?

Kill magnificient beasts for the profits obtained by their pelts.

Burn people for beliefs different than your own?

Glad to meet you Christian!

Excuse me if I maintain my distance.

My point? this country was founded on profit. Explored for profit.
and is still driven by the modern version of that which is Ceasars.

Quote by Jay Leno:

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding,
severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and
with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is
a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
