i'll be helping a friend move soon (she's paying me in beer and pizza) so i pulled out my canvas military tarp in case of rain and also to secure her random girly junk. i decided to add a few grommets for better rope positioning so i bought a pack of brass grommets (same kind it already has) and they have a big fat warning on the instructions; "look out dude, these contain lead and california says it will kill your ***!" ok, maybe that's not the exact wording.

in reality, i could probably eat all 100 grommets and not get lead poisoning. but they have to make a big deal about it and make every product sound like the antichrist now because of ridiculous lawsuits and dumb behavior.

my lawn mower used to have a sticker that said not to attempt to stop the blade with my genitals. glad they warned me because that was my plan.

thought I had a good one, this warning beats mine.

Bought a flat iron that says not to use on eyes???? who'd do that on purpose?

someone recently told me about a woman driving an RV and she put it on cruise or 'auto-pilot' and went in back and made a sandwich. it crashed, of course, and she won a lawsuit because the manual did not specifically state you're not to leave the driver's seat in that mode. i don't know who true that is, but yes, the warning labels are ridiculous and taking the place of common sense.

Heard a story about a woman that sued (and won) a maker of spermicidal jelly because she got pregnant despite using said product...claimed the warning label didn't specify to use it vaginally so she was eating it on her toast. True story.

Here's an idea ... anyone that stupid who wins such a lawsuit should be **ahem** "removed" from society, and whatever the damages are should be awarded to their next of kin ... if they have no "next of kin", then it should be awarded to a charity that has as its goal to prevent stupid people from breeding.
