Just a question here. It seems that as I meet women my age (61) they tend to have shorter hair. That's ok with me I don't have a preference about that and it's their hair anyway! Most lady friends I have with short hair say it's just easier to deal with. Makes sense to me. opinions?

I love my hair long. I honestly cannot see where short hair would be easier over long because you always have to fix it whereas with long hair you can put it up when you are short for time (plus mine is naturally curly which only adds to the ease of it). JMO

there are so few options with short hair but, as my mother had said, as you get older your hair texture changes. in that case, it may not be suited for being longer (without chemical assistance anyway which can be expensive).

my hair was buttlength before i cut it shorter (not short) and now i'm growing it long again...always options for shoulder length hair. up, down, curled, straight...gotta love it!

Well I have shoulder length hair and due to the style of it I have to curl it with the curling iron ect.. so it takes me longer to fix my hair at times I wish mine was just all one length and I could just put it up in a pony tail and go lolnoway whoa

Long hair is much easier to deal with. I get up for work and it takes 2 seconds to put it up or a braid or pull it back. Short hair seems to take a curling iron or something to get ready.

i have bangs that i'm growing in and omg what a pain! no amount of hair spray keeps the 'stick outs' down either LOL i have a lot of colorful headbands tho! thats one reason i cut my hair up to shoulder length...with the plan to keep it there till the bangs grew down. screw that, too much trouble! i like it loooooong! :-D

Well, I just turned 48 & I have no intention of cutting my hair any time in the near future... Like Txsgal said, I can put it up in a pony tail...braid it...wash & air dry for natural curl or straighten it... I don't think that there is an "age appropriate" style or length of hair...but hey! That's my 2 cents!

I think a lot of it depends on how good your hairdresser is.
I was going to one that all she could do was give me a mans haircut wirh a few curls on top.
Now I found a much better one and she thinks longer hair suits me better , and I am 65.

I have worn my hair short for a long time. Had a condition once that was causing my hair to fall out so keeping it short helped..also is easy to do when wearing a motorcycle helmet...happy

I would gag with short hair. I had it cut short again 2 years ago. I hated everything about it, and felt horrible the entire time until it grew out.

My mom has short hair, and always has, but long hair is just me. Ill never go short again. ewww. And whats worse is you gain a few pounds, and your face looks terrible with short hair. sick

If you are lucky enough to have long hair, believe me leave it that way. Most of the "reasons" you will hear don't pan out. All it does is take you off the "competion" list while your hair grows out. One of those things "Don't fix what is not broke".

As a teen I could sit on my hair, it hung in thick waves down my back. As recently as a year and a half ago it was only about an inch and a half long! I liked it short and have had it cut that way several times over the years. Once again I am growing it out, what a pain. usually i reach a point in the growing out process where it is just impossible and end up cutting it super short again. This time it is just past shoulder length except fr the front which I can finally hook behind my ears...think I'll make it to goal of all one length, just below shoulders this time!

I've tried the whole long hair thing it was ok for a while but i think short hair suits me better, it's so easy to manage, for some reason my hair just falls into place, no hairspray, or hair gel needed, and if i want something differant it's not too short that i can't put it in a pair of pigtails or something

I like my hair half-way down my back. Easy to put up (work at 6:00 am) cute to wear down. My hair gets poofy and curly when it's short, so I find that it's much more difficult to manage.
